This song has been running through my head for a couple of days now. "Kiss From a Rose" by Seal was released in 1994 and was included in the film "NeverEnding Story III. It reached #1 on 4 US charts. In 1995 it was part of the "Batman Forever" soundtrack; and at the 1996 Grammys, it won Record of the Year, Song of the Year and Best Male Pop Vocal Performance. Seal is a British singer, songwriter, musician and record producer. He has sold over 20 million records worldwide. He was married to Heidi Klum from 2005-2014. His facial scarring is due to a form of lupus. The song was written in 1987 by Seal. He "felt embarrassed by it" and "threw the tape in the corner". Later on Seal presented the tape to Trevor Horn. Seal commented: ""To be honest, I was never really that proud of it, though I like what Trevor did with the recording. He turned that tape from my corner into another 8 million record sales and my name became a household name." As for the cryptic lyrics, Seal said, "I have avoided explaining those lyrics for over 25 years. I am not going to start doing it now." "Yes, I compare you to a kiss from a rose on the grey Ooh, the more I get of you, the stranger it feels, yeah And now that your rose is in bloom A light hits the gloom on the grey."
