I looked at the ceiling while I talked. Horror!!!

Coral called me today. SO SWEET!!! While we talked I looked up the ceiling and disvovered that something was dripping! While Coral talked to me, I found some mops and rags to put there. I was in a state of shock. Fortunatly I remembered that I used to know a person who could do the job. And after saying goodbye to Coral (the people who bring me the groceries were also at the door) I called the gasfitter. The phone was still the same and he cound come. If he had done everything as he should I would have had to rob a Bank. As it was, we decided on plan B. He left the sink with water but the toilet could not be used. I´ll have to put a paper there saying that it is not in use. Anyway, I still have a good bathroom in the second floor and my big bathroom in the first. He charged a lot for what he did but he knew the alternatives and it is not leaking anymore. He told me that I would not be able to paint the first floor ceiling (it is in the dining room) for at least 2 months so that everything got dry. I just hope that nobody looks up during my parties.

Oh my goodness, I am glad it was fixed. Mom had a serious leakage from the apartment on top of her, she had to wait three months before repainting.

I´ll paint it in summer. It´s no use to do it now.

@LadyDuck I´ll wait. It is not beautiful, but nobody will be looking at the ceiling all the time.

@marguicha You are right. I told to my Mom to wait to be sure it was fully dry.

I fixed it by accepting that that toilet would be cut off. I don´t mind because it is the second bathroom of the second floor and I live in the first. But I have the depressing thought that things are getting old one by one.

@RubyHawk My house was well taken care when my husband was alive. But now I don´t have the means nor the will to take care of it.

@marguicha I know that’s the way it usually happens, but in your case I hope not.

@marguicha I also do feel you. I do not look up to my ceiling in the room before. Since my younger sister took the liberty to repaint it, I can see it now without freaking out.

Everything means money though. I have one bathroom partly cut off (I don´t mind) but that meant money. And then I´ll have to have the ugly ceiling for at least 2 or 3 months. And then, more money to have it painted.

@marguicha Maintenance on a house is never-ending. And always costly.

@JudyEv Exactly. And I don´t mind much as I only use the first floor. And if I ever sell the house, there won´t be a great difference in how it is done. The new owners will want to remodel it.

Since there's no more leakage already, you can try to paint over it.

It is very wet. I have to wait until it dries out, maybe in 2 months.

The ceiling is already defective or rotten due to rain that leaked. Anyway it's already repaired but yet unpainted. Why is it it takes so long to be repainted?

Thay ceiling is made of concrete. And the concrete is absolutly. wet. It has to dry and that takes time.

@Nakitakona What has to dry is the concrete, not the paint.

It might've cost a pretty penny, but he got the job done. Water stains aside, you have no leaks and a functioning bathroom. Couldn't ask for more.

Glad you got that fixed, I took a shower this morning and later saw the water was not going out of the tub so I called my friend Nick from downstairs and 9it took him a few pumps and pokes and everything is going all right now so hopefully there won't be any more problems,
