Good day fellow myLotters. Been a while since I last posted. In fact, it has been awhile since I last logged in the site. Offline things needed my attention. Anyway, one of the things that keeps me busy is doing laundry. I usually do it once a week but the past couple of weeks, I've been doing it twice a week. Let me say that doing laundry is a mundane task but highly satisfying for me. Laundry day is for me is Sunday or Monday since those are my rest days. However, last Sunday, even if I woke up early, the line was still long as you can see on the pic attached. Did my usual laundry on Sunday. Then did it again on Monday. Got some training gis and gear that needs to be cleaned. I also had my usual laundry and bed sheets so I had to use two machines. On Monday, I had another set of bed sheets that needed to be cleaned so it is another trip to the laundry shop. As mundane as this task is, it gives me joy getting clean stuff! I usually drop off my laundry but these days, I do it myself. I read a good book and catch up on my emails while waiting. So what mundane task gives you joy?

I don't know that any mundane tasks bring me joy. I should find one to follow in your footsteps.

We do not do laundry at home because we do not have access to a washing machine. We have the laundromat get it up and deliver it to us dried and folded. They normally pick it up once a week and deliver it three days later.

Use to do this before. I usually get my laundry within the same day. Three days is a long time. One thing I miss about dropping off laundry is that I have to fold the laundry myself.

@allen0187 I agree that three days is a long time to wait, but they have other customers, and that is the only laundry shop we trust with our clothes because they clean them well. Around my neighborhood, there are a few self-service laundry shops. We haven't tried it because we're both too busy to do it on our own, especially because we have a lot of stuff to do at home, including family and work-related tasks.

@rsa101 true. Those were my reasons as well. Anyway, glad that you were able to find a laundry shop that you trust.

I stripped the bed this morning and I am doing laundry right now. I will mop the floor of the bedroom and dust before placing the clean bedsheets back. I like a clean bed.

Anything that leaves me with clean whatever is satisfying. So is organising/tidying a cupboard or drawer.

Cool, so it's kinda therapeutic for you, huh. Reading and catching up on emails is a good way to pass the time waiting for the clothes to be washed.

Yup, it is. Sometimes, I let my mind wander. Not too far though, as it might get lost!

Bed sheets are too heavy to wash.

That is why I use a machine to wash it.

I actually enjoy doing laundry. I hate all other cleaning tasks, but sometimes I get in the mood of organizing and throwing away things in my drawers. Usually that happens in June, the end of the school year, when I finally have time to think about organization.

That is another task that I need to start doing - organizing my things and throwing things or donating things that are still usable. Will get on with that. Good luck to you in completing that.
