Fitting In

Have you ever felt like you didn't fit in with any particular group? Have you ever striven to fit in, but just couldn't find your niche? For many people, this will lead to feelings of lonliness and/or depression. For some it is just moments of sadness that they experience. However, there is a beauty in not fitting in. One does not have to become anti-social or socially awkward. They can actually become more productive and interactive. The interaction is just different than for those who are popular. God created us uniquely and with a purpose. Those solitary moments can be spent getting to know God better. They can be spent enjoying His beautiful and magnificent creation. They can be spent equipping ourselves to further His kingdom. Honestly, we can't truly love others properly or interact efficiently until we understand who God created us to be. We can't truly love others unless we allowing Christ to love through us. And all the fun and friends in the world will not bring true joy. They only bring temporal happiness. So embrace those solitary moments. Talk to God. Relax and enjoy the beauty around you. Read the Bible. Listen to healthy/wholesome music. Get out and exercise, even if it is just a short walk. Breathe in the air. Rest in Jesus. Let Him lead you to the people He wants in your life. photocredit: the mind's journal

Very motivating post for introverts like me. I generally like to do meaningful conversations rather than blabbering. And it is difficult to actually 'converse' while in a 'crowd' .

I feel sympathy and sorrow for those who try so hard to fit in. It's important to be comfortable in your own company.

I was going to have another comment until I of course read your post. Not once have I ever wanted to fit in. I like being me and don't care if anyone likes that or not. Too many people waste too much time worrying about things that simply do not matter. Just live life, be you, and get on with it—sort of like you said. Although I parse fewer words. lol
