Comanche Texas Police Officer was on his work time on Sunday on the Memorial Day weekend was summoned by a citizen who managed to get Comanche Police Officer Heath Oakley to ask for his assistance since there was a fire down the road.
By this time the Comanche Fire Department had not arrived to the site of a fire in a trailer park that began when a propane tank overheated down the road.
Two of the three mobile homes were destroyed in the fire while the third trailer park was on the verge of being burned to the ground when Officer Oakley arrived and he used his skills as a former firefighter called out one man who was trapped inside of the burning home and rescue him in the nick of time.
Even though all three mobile park trailers were destroyed by the fire, no one was hurt.
Officer Oakley will be receiving an award from his superiors in a public ceremony in the future since he did risk his life to save the life of one man who needed his help to get out of a dangerous situation.

So nice to hear of someone being saved in such a horrible fire. Those trailers go up so easy.

That is true since my relatives were thinking of getting a trailer home after Hurricane Katrina hit New Orleans but that idea fell through.

@Deepizzaguy Yes it is. You have to start all over again from the bottom.

Good job for Officer Oakley. Why he will receive award in the future? Why is it not immediate? Just simply a paper recognition is good enough. Others I know is just a tap on their shoulder will do. With no so.kuch funfare.

I guess his bosses at the police headquarters have important issues right now before giving Officer Oakley his award.

@Deepizzaguy That seems uncertain. Better not to assure him. Whether there's an award or not police officers are duty bound to serve and protect the people's lives and properties.
