A strange opossum story from Wyoming

Chris Thomas who is a deputy with the Sweetwater County Sheriff's Office (SCSO) in Wyoming responded to a call from a resident located west of Rock Springs three days ago when an opossum was located under the home.
Officer Thomas was able to get the opossum out from underneath the home to take the animal home with her for a short while until she was able to take the opossum she named George to a local rehabilitation center until the officials to their area of the nation where the male opossum can call home.
What makes this story odd is that Officer Thomas believes that George was hiding underneath a semi in another state that stopped to get some gasoline.
It is rare for an opossum to call home in the Western part of the United States. Officer Thomas does not believe that George ran away from his former part of the nation on his own.

If it did happen in our place, kids will make fun of it or they will throw stones until it scampers and gets lost.

It is a shame that kids in your place do not like possums that much.

I saw a video on something that showed a guy opening the top drawer of his barbecue and there was a family of opossums in there. This one must of wanted the dark under the house.

Opossums are known for staying underneath autos to keep away from the heat.

I am with you that George the opossum will find a new home, in my former neighborhood, there were a few opossums in the back yard after Hurricane Laura came in 2020.

I do believe that I have seen a few opossums in my former neighborhood about the time that Hurricane Laura came in 2020.
