You ought to see the view I had out of my “hotel window” this morning. And the wonderful aroma when I got out of the car. Ooooh! That explained everything I need to know about why people camp. But this isn’t about that, it’s about Roger Miller. While he didn’t do any songs about camping Homer & Jethro parodied “King of the Road” as “King of the Camp.” But that’s for another time, too. Thanks to @xander6464 I’m doing Roger songs and songs he wrote. And here’s the next one. #3: Walkin’ Talkin’ Cryin’ Barely Beatin’ Broken Heart - Johnnie Wright Linda? NO. No. No nonononononono!!!!!!! And the rest of you? Don’t “But Highway 101” me! Yes, this is the song that Highway 101 had a hit with in the late 80s, but the original goes back to Johnnie Wright in 1964. Now, let’s play six degrees of Roger Miller here. Johnnie’s daughter was Ruby Wright, who had one hit: an “answer song” of sorts to “Dang Me,” called “Dern Ya.” And, if you’re into country music, you’ll easily recognize Wright’s wife, Kitty Wells, singing background on this song. By this time Wells was the bigger star in the family, but she was content to be Mrs. Johnnie Wright (she said “It Wasn’t God Who Made Honky Tonk Angels” wasn’t intended to be an early feminist anthem), even though most of the country music world thought of him as “Mr. Kitty Wells.” Anyway, here’s a country classic for you. Walkin’ Talkin’ Cryin’ Barely Beatin’ Broken Heart Written by Roger Miller and Justin Tubb Recorded by Johnnie Wright From Hello Vietnam, 1964 I’ll try to make it short (unlike the song’s title ):

That’s the version most younger people would know. But we had the Johnnie Wright 45.

It does have a longish title but it really flows well.

Flow is necessary is long song titles and toilets.

@FourWalls It sure is. You don't want to have to flush either of them more than once.

I didn't know this one but it's pretty sad. I need to find an upbeat one before this becomes an ear worm.

The music is certainly upbeat, isn’t it. So deceptive!
