The Age Gap and Widowhood

According to data worldwide, more women become widows in comparison to men becoming widowers.
Two of the main reasons cited for this is that (1) --Women have a higher life expectancy compared to men. (2) - the age gap between couples -- men marrying women who are 10, 20, 30 years their junior.
Won't it be much better then if couples are closer in age when they marry , and men took better care of their health.?
Then you would find more couples growing old together and leaving this world - not together, but at least not years before each other.
Is there a big gap in age between yourself and spouse? Would you marry someone who is much older or younger ? Are you a widow or widower? How are you coping?
Today, June 23 is "International widows' Day".
This year's theme is : "Invisible Women, Invisible Problems".

I think that none of this matters in the long run, as people can die even if they are extremely healthy is what I mean. Sometimes your time is come and that is that.

Indeed, like l said one can be perfectly healthy and die by accident, natural disaster or gunshot. However we can't just relax and say : "Oh, anything could happen l could die tomorrow by any of the above mentioned ,so what is the point of striving for a healthy body. " ln my view we should do what is to be done in spite of - it is also very possible that one will live to be 100 or more.

Both my exes were older than me. (They're both still alive, as far as I know.) I always dated older women. *shrug*

@DaddyEvil The first was a bit much - but 7 years quite okay. Anyway age does not matter when there is true love.

I don`t think it is about age gap. We really can`t control or know when our life will end.

I am 11 years older than my wife. We've together for 25 years. We both live happily and have had only a few rows during our marriage life.

I'm five years older than my husband but he's the one with most of the health problems.

@Kandae11 I would tend to agree. You hear more women talk about dieting than men.
