Jeremy and Sarah Henson who are residents of Lenexa Kansas were on vacation in Las Vegas earlier this month were shocked to learn that their dog Dexter who had been placed in a dog hotel for a period of five days to be taken care of by the persons inside of the hotel, managed to escape the facility by jumping over a six foot fence and then walk two miles to their home.
Since the couple have a Ring camera outside of their home, the camera alerted them that Dexter wanted to come inside their home since he missed them a lot.
Jeremy managed to tell Dexter to remain calm and wait for them to return in a few days. Jeremy then managed to contact the hotel management to pick up Dexter and take him back to the hotel where he was staying until they would return from their vacation in a few days.
Jeremy believes that Dexter knew how to leave the hotel since he had been walked by hotel employees on a daily basis while he was there since even dogs love the company of their owners more than being taken care of by strangers.
I seriously doubt that Dexter was being abused by the employees of the dog hotel. Dexter was just homesick.

I wonder what the dog was thinking. I guess some animals are that way. The bond they have with the owner is so strong.

@celticeagle If the owner treats the dog like a close friend, they are loyal to their owner. If not, they are sworn enemies.

I am always amazed that dogs can find their way home.

I have noticed that with the dogs that I used to own who are no longer with me that they knew where their home was when they got lost on rare occasions.

@LindaOHio It is since I know realize dogs are smarter than they look.

I agree with you since Dexter's owners would have to deal with heavy heartbreak had Dexter got lost for good.

Why are you presumptuous that the dog was abused? It was left unattended and the dog case was forgotten to securely lock.

I made an error in judgement since dog hotels are known for taking care of the pets at the care of the dog hotels.
