Carabao English: "Your Dog, You Tie"

I just only translated a law that dogs are not allowed roaming around the places in my city. It sounds a carabao English if the phrase: "Aso mo, itali mo" is being translated. Another one, "Dumi ng Aso Mo, Pulutin Mo!" (Your dog poop, pick it up!). Let's get back to this law. If the pet owner violated it, he or she needs to pay the amount of Php 500 ($9.08). The funny fact is no strict law for stray cats. Do I have a point with this matter? Do you any laws like it?

You have made your point. It’s the same here and it makes me wonder why cats can wander and poop anywhere they want and dogs can’t.

I am glad that you got my point. I just cannot understand why cats are not included in this particular law.

@Shavkat I had never thought about it but it does seem strange.

When speaking English, we frequently fall victim to literal translation. In any case, I believe cats are less careless than dogs when it comes to disposing of their feces. When cats poop, some of them even attempt to bury the waste. But I suppose that law will somehow make everyone aware that they risk receiving a fine if their pets are discovered to be improperly leashed.

@Shavkataily.Well, that sort of problem did arise in my native province when I was younger. We had stray cats in our house who had made the decision to stay and reproduce a lot, but we just let them stay so they could eat the leftover food we have, which they joyfully accepted every day. Additionally, they kept the area at least mouse-free since rodents would keep away from our place due to the presence.

My personal concern is that stray cats continue to reproduce if not spayed. In front of our house, I must say that there are lots of stray cats because of the reason mentioned.

Knowing there are more stray cats than dogs. But the problem with dogs, they poop everywhere and have the tendency to bite other people while roaming the streets. Not unlike cats, they are more harmless than dogs. So maybe that's the reason why they do not do it with cats.

You have a point here, Belinda... The only problem for the stray whiskers is they reproduce easily. By the way, welcome back to myLot!

Our dogs are supposed to be fenced in or on a leash when out. The leash is described as under full control. You dont need a physical leash if you have trained the dog well. No rules about cats.

I wish I could train my dogs that well. I agree that it needs to leash the pet dogs when going out of the house.

Dogs should always be on a leash since they can bite someone even accidentally and then there are all kinds of problems

I agree with you. It is also included with this law that needs to leash the dogs. At some point, it is also the same in America that they will catch stray dogs.

All our dogs now have to be on a leash except in special areas. Stray cats would be picked up by the ranger if they can be caught.

It is fine if the dogs are within the fences in the house. I am not sure if the city officials cannot notice the stray cats roaming around the neighborhood.

Where I live there are strict laws that require dog owners to keep their dogs on leases when in public and to clean up their messes when they make one but as you said there is no such law for cats. One thing some groups do is they capture stray cats to get them vaccinated, spayed and neutered then return them to the areas where they found them.
