Good morning from this side of the planet. It's 10:30 AM here and it is my first break at work. And this would be a long break because the child for the next session continues to be unwell and absent. I came prepared for this long break. I brought my laptop today so that I can sit here and finish making some more worksheets. And in between I can peep in here and do some mylotting. My next session starts at 12. And I have good 90 minutes at hand. Yesterday, I finished the cupboard and work table cleaning and arrangements in the same break. Things look more sorted now and I feel more organized I got this news as soon as I picked up my phone in the morning. Bangalore airport is the first airport in the country to come up with this. And I would say that it's a welcome progressive step.. They now have diaper changing station in the men's washroom. Well, traditionally in most parts of the world, childcare is the prime responsibility of women. We have seen some changes there in the last few decades with the changing socio economic conditions. More and more families are becoming nuclear in our urban setup here in India. The role of women has changed and slowly men are coming up to share the responsibilities that were traditionally assigned to women. I hope the link works and you can read it. Hope all is well in your mylot corner. Will catch up with some notifications before I move to making worksheets Last days of month is here. Hope all have reached their goals. If not, you can still catch up
A tweet celebrating the presence of a diaper changing room at men's washroom in ...

There are some men, possibly many, who need to do this and where could they go otherwise? That's a very progressive step. I'm all for it.

@arunima25 There are a lot of new, modern homes around our village and a coffee shop at the end of our street. We see dozens of men on their own pushing prams or delivering children to school or daycare. They really take a much greater part in raising children than they ever used to.

@JudyEv I would agree there. We notice the same here. I see more fathers coming to drop young children at our school.. It's good to see these changes. Earlier fathers won't be comfortable doing these as they feared being judged and ridiculed.

I felt good reading this positive piece of news. Dads play an important role too and with changing socio economic conditions, the traditional roles assigned to mom and dad are also changing. Such steps give a social acceptance to these Dads and soon more and more dads would join them.

I love that! That is reinforcing that childcare is an equal responsibility of both parents. So progressive indeed!

@arunima25 Well in the UK i'm not quite sure they have a baby changing station but not necessarily in the men's toilet. In the Philippines I am don't know as I haven't been home for a long time.

@flapiz Oh! Okay. I have been to many countries but I fail to see any diaper changing station next to men's washroom. Maybe things have changed now. I have not travelled since the pandemic.

That is a good news. I took a lot of tasks in child care when they were younger, apart from cooking and some very basic care. It did impact my work in the 1st few phases, but well things get covered up later on. Indication of changing times for sure !

@arunima25 But now I feel short of time as I have more job responsibilities now, and at times even managing drying of clothes looks time consuming, but still I try to manage!

It's definitely a progressive step. Good that you take equal responsibility in bringing up your children. My husband is also the same..but he used to travel a lot and so was not much around. But whenever he is around I get enough help. Families are becoming nuclear and females have more responsibilities these days. It's good for partners to share responsibilities.

Talking about cleaning cupboards I did the same as there is hardly any gardening work. The maid did a splendid job. Every nook and corner of the house was attended to stuff thrown out what was not needed.

@arunima25 Yes heavy rain. I am so frustrated that I no longer will have plants that need pampering. I have enough that withstand any weather!!! My maid is new and you know a new broom sleeps well (lol)

@allknowing These rains have spoilt so many plants here too. Many veggies got rotten because of too much rain. Garden is full of weeds because of this rain. Things look lush green but most are weeds. I have decided to take some break from the gardening.

Why no gardening work? I hope that the excess rain is not the reason. Many plants are ruined in my garden too due to this excessive rain.. Good to know that you have a very efficient maid.

Men and women should share equality when they raise children.

I totally agree with you. It should be a shared responsibility. With the changing socio economic conditions, women have come a long way sharing so many responsibilities other than chores and children care. Men should be doing the same.

@Nakitakona I have crossed one dollar mark. I will try to be regular and interactive here. Though it seems that I would miss the payout this month, I will definitely have a good headstart to the next month.

Having diaper changing available in the mens room certainly sounds like a good idea. So many dads these days do the diaper changing.

Yes, with changing socio economic conditions, partners have to share the responsibilities of children. This one is a progressive step and we hope that we get to see more such things in coming future.

That's very progressive that men are looked upon to take care of a child.

Yes. It's a welcome progressive step. Childcare responsibility needs to be shared between the two parents. Dads play an equal important role. And definitely traditional roles are changing with changing socio economic conditions.

It's a welcome progressive step. And most people would appreciate it. I hope that soon it is followed by other airports across the globe. And in all aspects of life, we hope to see more such progressive steps.
