1982 Songs: Centerfold

Welcome to July and another month of looking at real old songs. 
I did this a couple of years ago when someone complained about “old songs” from the early 2000s. Now it’s back! The first three weeks will be alphabetical, then my ten favorites will close out the month. Let’s get rolling with a song you may hear on the radio today and not realize it’s 40 years old.
Centerfold - J. Geils Band
One of the biggest hits of 1982, this was the J. Geils Band’s only #1 hit. I guess they “Must of Got Lost” in the top 40 stuff the rest of the time. 
I remember Peter Wolf saying he wasn’t much on dancing, and boy does it show in the video 
As my late, lamented friend Tim Wilson used to say, ”I’m Caucasian, but that there is a white boy!”
Oh, well, it’s a great song from a great album…and I always thought Stephen Bladd (the drummer) was cute.

Yup you're right...familiar with the song but didn't realize it was 40 years old.

It got a lot of airplay back then, and now is more or less the only J. Geils Band song they play on the radio.
