I Probably Should Take the Plunge

I keep seeing this Colonial Penn commercial for life insurance. That has a plan for only $9.95. I keep thinking I really need to get this but I don't. Every month money is so tight I can nearly hear it squeak. Nearly every penny goes for food and bills. One treat a month is needed to keep me sane. I get a very small pension and SS and that is it. My daughter gets SSI and she pays half of the rent and utilities. We live very modestly. I keep thinking about life insurance but I just can't bring myself to do it. Have you taken that plunge?

No, I haven't. Truth be told I don't really think it's going to be needed if I were being honest. Not if you have to pay a monthly fee for it. and I would be very concerned when they claim the price is so cheep. I would do a ton of research before remotely considering it.

Yes, we signed up for life insurance about 50 years ago. Some of the policies are paid off; and we don't have to pay any premiums. Have a great 4th.

I have enough life insurance to bury me and so does my husband.

I am acquainted with several seniors who have done this. All I can say is, be sure you do your homework. It's not the best way...plus, if you die within 2 years of the policy start up date, your family gets your $9.95 per month back with a tiny interest, no payout. And, the kicker is $9.95 per month will buy you like $700 in coverage AFTER 2 years of payments. That's not even going to pay for the obituary notice.
