Flea Market Find! "Are You Hungry Tonight?"

Yesterday I had planned on going to the flea market. The reason I chose Tuesday is because the small town there has a Farmer's Market at the Ag. Center on Tuesdays. I thought the market closed at 2 pm and that would give us plenty of time to get there, look around and then head over to the Flea Market.
We arrived at 1:35 pm and the very last vendor was packing up! We missed it! We missed it all! I wasn't too upset, just told my hubby that we will be back next week!
We then looked around town for some place to eat because the man was hungry and his sugar was dropping. We ended up at Sonic. Everything else that we saw was closed!
After lunch we went to the Flea Market and I put out some new things and straightened up. My hubby took his stroll while I did that and when I finished up, I walked around a little bit. I found a box of cookbooks for only $5.00. I looked through them and saw a nice variety of fund raiser cookbooks from various Churches, and others. The one book that caught my eye was was the "clincher" was a book titled, "Are You Hungry Tonight?" This book contains Elvis' favorite recipes. I thumbed through it last night and enjoyed the side notes from the author, who was a fan and saw Elvis in concert around 35 times!
Have you had any nice or special yard sale/flea market/garage sale finds lately?

It was mainly southern home cooked dishes, meatloaf with mushroom gravy, pot roast, the famous peanut butter and banana sandwiches, mashed potatoes, fried chicken, collard greens, black eyed peas. I may do another post about some of the dishes and one other recipe that was a total surprise to me.

@wolfgirl569 I don't even see many at all when I drive to Baton Rouge, even in the residential areas.

There were some interesting combinations like apples and yams. Another one that caught my attention in the index was Smokey Mountain Gravy.
I hope you find a good sale or shop!! Speaking of which, I have not visited the thrift shop run by one of the Churches in the next town over. There are always good finds there, but since I don't have much storage space here, I need to stay away for awhile. Ha!

That book may be a collectible. We haven't been to a garage sale/flea market in years. We are trying to downsize.

Really, you need a recipe to follow for peanut butter and banana sandwiches?
Seriously, that’s a GREAT find.
I haven’t been to a flea market in I don’t know how long, even though there’s one not too far from my house. My dog’s been gone for 20 years so I don’t need the fleas.
(Truthfully, it’s in an OLD musty building and I can barely breathe in there.)

I had the same thought, but after reading the recipe I learned that:
1) You toast the bread
2) You mash the bananas into a spread
I have only ate ONE peanut butter and banana sandwich and I did not toast the bread and just sliced the bananas.
Eww, musty buildings are not good and you should stay away if you have trouble breathing.

That was a cool cookbook to find. Did it have a recipe for peanut butter and banana sandwiches?
