My appointment with the doctor went well

I had my appointment with my doctor today. He informed me that everything was fine my BP and the condition of my heart. He however has referred me some tests. I really don't understand when everything was fine why do I need so many test? I think he is under pressure from the management to earn extra bugs for them. This happens in most private hospitals in India. The tests will cost me quite an amount. My next appointment is after two months and will have to complete the tests before that.

Anyway, maybe it's just a precaution. Health is expensive everywhere in the world.

That's sure. In India health expenses are more expensive in the metropolitan cities.

@Laurakemunto That's sure. The hospital my husband was treated had exorbitant charges for different tests.

Those tests are quite expensive . Last month my wife had to go through blood tests, ECG, LFT and all that. Over and above costly medicines ! Thank God she is better now. Hope and pray you will be better too.

The tests are usually costly but I have to go through it. My heart's condition is fine the doctor said and my BP too. The doctor said I am fine by God's grace.

Doctor's seem to love to schedule tests, even when there is no need.

Sometimes they order tests to make sure they have not missed anything. I am not sure how medical care works where you are.

It works the same way as in your country. Tests will be done to make sure nothing is wrong with my other organs I suppose.

For annual tests, important blood chem tests should be performed. This is to ensure that you have a clean health bill. But for random tests, there should no need of many tests, unless you have had a previous sickness that is being treated.

He has asked me to go through the tests and I will go through tomorrow. I have called the pharmacists to give my blood samples.

Every doctor wants his/her patients to get through the test to get confirm some things which he/she may not be able to find. So I won't say he was after the money. You should get all the tests done in my opinion.

Are the tests related to your heart or are they what might be considered wellness tests? Here, many of us get tested yearly for our cholesterol levels and blood glucose to make sure we're not prediabetic. But, if we have insurance, out insurance pays for wellness checks.

My doctor is trying to run a bunch on tests on me. I won't allow this, unless I'm actually sick.

Medical services is on the high side now, sometimes only the rich can afford it. But Government has done well to subsidize some services.
