Today I met my doctor with the reports and he said all was well. Nothing was wrong. My BP, my heart condition, my blood count, my cholesterol and my uric acid level. Yet I have to continue with my BP medicine and heart medicine. When I am fine why should I take medicine? That's what puzzles me. I know a very good Ayurvedic doctor who would never ask you to take medicines if you don't require them, but he has left my city and gone to Bhubaneswar, another city. I am planning to meet him after the rainy season. My elder son has decided to take me to him. I don't want to take medicines anymore as they are producing lot of gas in my stomach. Hope things come out as I want them. I am happy today. Stay happy my mylot friends.

There's a reason you have to take your maintenance medicine. This is to prevent sudden attacks that could be life-threatening. This is what happens in heart attacks or strokes. You may not foresee certain events that could suddenly spike your BP or heart function and have these attacks. The maintenance meds will prevent this from happening. Prevention is still better than cure. So, please don't stop your daily maintenance doses prescribe by your doctor. You need them for prevention.

You are right. I am continuing with the medicines and will consult both an Allopathic doctor and an Ayurvedic doctor.

You should have asked the doctor, why the medicines are required when your reports are fine. Maybe he is hiding something from you.
You can always consult your Ayurvedic doctor on a video call if he is available. I have done it when I know I won't be able to go to a doctor.

Maybe that's the reason I am taking them according to the doctor's advice.

Have you been taking BP medicine? If yes, it's the medicine which helps to put your BP in control. That's why you have to continue taking it. If you have not taken any BP medicine, I'm puzzled.

@aninditasen That's quite common for people taking BP medicine. There's a chance your dosage can be reduced though.
