1982 Songs Top Ten: Space Age Love Song (#9)

Howdy! Yes, I’m up early. There’s a tournament in northern Kentucky and I’m going up to watch. Before I head out I’m going to celebrate another song from the year 1982. I’m in the top ten now, and here’s another fine song that’s now 40 years old. #9: Space Age Love Song - A Flock of Seagulls Ah, the band who had the lead singer with the cool hairdo. (That’s Mike Score…and he’s bald now.) Their big hit, and the one that still gets all the airplay, is “I Ran (So Far Away).” They did have other hits. This one didn’t do as well as the others (the follow-up to this song, “Wishing [I Had a Photograph of You],” was a top 30 hit and top five mainstream rock song), but this is the one I like best. I got to see these guys as the opening act for the Police. No, the coliseum didn’t smell of hair spray from Score’s hairdo. They were quite good! This song is quite good, too.
