Is it torture for a child to answer...

...this question: I don't understand why a young learner student needs to be asked this question online, "Who do you like best in your family?" I can see how my 12-year-old son found it difficult to respond. He was able to pick his mother instead of his father. With this foolish question, he is actually torn between his mum and his dad. How do you feel about it? Which do you intend to pick? Image Credit: dadsdivorce.com

This is the stupid question that all people asked to my brother and I every time they stopped Mom to say, what a beautiful kids you have, are they twins? Our reply "we love mom and dad the same, no preferences". We were smart kids.

I also do the same thing when being asked before. These people are unreasonable in asking this question.

I think anyone who asks this is very insensitive. It's not something anyone should ask of a child.

It is like the situation where parents are having a divorce in court.

Well, there may be some family issues that are behind that that is why they find it hard to choose between them. I think it is different from family to family.

I got this question from an IELTS questionnaire and find it weird to ask this.

I would be pissed if someone asked my kids that. They should never have to be faced with that.

I agree. I always shake my head when seeing this kind of questions and asked to young ones.

Most kids will say both parents, at least the ones I have heard.

this question is a stupid question. Cuz it make the kid suffer to choose. as this make like having a favorite. I am really upset when I get asked about that. well Imma just pick my Brother. as my brother is the only one who plays with me and sometimes stupid or annoying but he is my only brother and best friend

I always don't like the situation wherein the biological parents are in the middle of divorcing and the like.

Yes. I don't agree with that question as well to compare between the father and the mother.

Indeed. At a young age, they are torn between two people in their lives. It is not a good thing.
