Food pickup is not cheap

Philippines
July 29, 2022 3:21am CST
I tried a food pickup app today(foodpanda) and when I compared the price, it was still more than the price of the food. They always claim that you can save more and even have vouchers or a few pesos off, but I guess it is computed beforehand that the price of the food will always be a bit higher than when you buy in the actual store.. which makes sense since no one wants to love money. not the app or the store.

Sorry to hear that, here it depends on the distance of the food place.

The foods are little more priced at delivery apps and that does make sense. The delivery service provider also has to run a business and pay salaries. And people pay a little extra or a little more extra to get things at comfort of their home.

yeah, for some it is better since getting food delivered is definitely more convenient than preparing or going out to eat.

@stanley777 Especially after the pandemic, it's mostly preferred by people.

Here in the UK it is the same thing. They have to earn somehow too. Sometimes there Re good deals. Uber eats is quite reasonably priced. I have not tried food panda.

Yeah it definitely makes sense, that's why I am okay with it. I won't just buy too often

I've never used a delivery service. My city is too small for anyone to be willing to deliver here.

@PhredWreck Around 7,000 people here. Pizza Hut will deliver but we don't care for their foods. As far as I know, they are the only restaurant here that delivers.

@PhredWreck There is only one other pizza place here and it's a mom and pop place. They don't deliver. (Online it says we have delivery from Door Dash but if you try to use them it says "No Service for your area".)

Hopefully the quality is still the same?
