I have so many disappointing experience in life and I wonder how I manage to get through them. I feel sick today as my Tutee did not show up again. I understand them they are not that rich to pay me all the time. What do you do when you feel life is disappointing not going in the way you want too? I am now relaxing and telling myself don't stress too much. Just enjoy life

I just leave disappointments as they are, I'm old enough to know that they would always pass.

@averygirl72 if there's a reason I would look at disappointments it's just to learn from it.

It's part of life and we will encounter them every now and then. Don't focus on them but in your blessings

@louievill agree, it's not permanent so why make it a big deal. We can divert our thinking to other useful things.

I guess you are doing well by reminding yourself to not stress over them too much. They will pass and you will find ways to work around every struggle/challenge you get. I may be guilty too at many times since I also succumb to panic and worry about things but there are just things that you cannot do anything at the moment but just accept and let it pass if there is nothing you cannot do.

@averygirl72 Yes there are just challenges that cannot be solved in one seating. You need to relax and pray that you solve it as soon but never push yourself to end it if it cannot be solved immediately.

@rsa101, almost all of us experience disappointment but we all surpassed them. They're just temporary. It's part of our existence on earth.

Keep a handle on your expectations, and the number of disappointments will gradually decrease.

I tell myself "This too shall pass." Disappointment happens because our expectation is too high. Shooting for the stars might not be a practical motivation. When we have goals that are difficult to achieve, we set ourselves up for failure. Better to plan for objectives that are achievable.

Disappointment is inevitable. We should lower our expectation and don't expect perfection all the time in life

Sulk for awhile and then just shrug it off and continue my day as usual. I don't want to dwell on negative feelings as it would really make me crazy.

@averygirl72 Just don't have high expectations and accept that things like that could go wrong. Shift your attention to some thing else. Always make a pan B, C or D if you must.

It made me crazy and it made me feel sick. Maybe it's time to stop relying on tutorial jobs for my happiness because it just make me sad. Time to look for things that won't disappoint me much

They are part of our life. I don't deal with them as I deal with other things in my life. They are not permanent, you will forget them with time, just face them and dont ever get them to dance on your head as that will cause depression and other health issues. So it better is to keep yourself happy with the other things and don't think of disappointments always.

It's normal that you felt disappointed when your Tutee did not show up. When the emotion passed, think of ways to improve the situation. Can you try to get more Tutees?

Turn to God and pray, he strengthens us to walk through every disappointment. When this one is gone, another one will follow close behind. That's considered normal.

My mom has been feeling this way for months now.. She's been trying to sell our house, she cleans it all up and shines everything up to make it look perfect before each showing. Then she has me do the same for my room, my niece's room, and the upstairs bathroom. All for 5 minutes of people walking through and then not wanting to buy, or offering much lower than our asking price. What she doesn't see, is that this isn't the right time for us to move. I knew this right from the start. But I go along with the whole thing anyway, because what else can I do.. She just walks around frustrated and disappointed. I keep telling her whenever anything is this difficult, it's not meant to be anyway. But she won't listen, she is stubborn. (Pisces)

I understand you perfectly. I have many disappointments behind me too. The worst part is that most of the time I was disappointed with the people I trusted. I have learned not to give myself too much hope about different situations and people. When something like this happens to me, I try to take care of myself. So I go for a long walk, watch what will allow me to forget for a while, exercise, meet my friends. It gives me strength and allows me to survive a difficult time.

There were times I really felt disappointed...I told to myself I should have done that way. There are times we people can expect unexpected disappointments. We can learn something from our disappointments and maybe planning can be of great help to avoid disappointments. But at some point disappointments can be part of our life and we can just laugh about them.
