This was our amazing home cooked dinner last night. Black pasta linguini with Nordic salmon and shrimps. The pasta is black due to squid ink. My boyfriend and I cooked it together, him being the main chef and me being the sous.
We loved this meal very much and we have agreed to experiment with food and try something different every week from now on.

I'm sorry, but EWW! Do you know where squid ink comes from?

@DaddyEvil Hahaha well I have drunk coffee luwak which is from a civet cats poo. So it's okay. Animals eat less disgusting thing than people. So it shouldn't be so vile

Mmm ... cooking together strengthens your bond, no?
That's how my relationship would work if I could find a girl to assist in writing

@mythociate Ahahaha that sounds rather romantic. What sorts of story? or literary piece do you write?

I have to say, the black color of the pasta doesn't look too appealing, but I bet the meal tasted delicious!
If you want to try something exotic, try eating octopus! I had some the other night for the first time and I loved it! I didn't like that it was served as a long tentacle on my plate, but I got over that quickly once I realized how great it tasted.
It seems you have been eating a lot of Italian food lately, which makes sense because your boyfriend is Italian. But do you ever eat Filipino food as well so he is exposed to that cuisine?

Hahaha I could understand the aversion to black food. I am the total opposite. Yes we have been eating a lot of Italian these days but we do eat Filipino or if not just Asian cuisine. There are not a lot of Filipino restaurants here in Guernsey and in UK for that matter.
He does love it when I cook him adobo.

@flapiz Adobo is very popular here. I can see why he likes when you cook it for him.

@luisga814 So it's salmon, tomatoes, shrimps, olive oil, salt, and well the trickiest to find is the pasta nero or black pasta.

That is true. So it is really important to have an open and curious mind.
