I stumbled across this article today. It's from Conde Nast Traveler magazine; and it talks about the 10 Best cities of the world to live in. Most are in Canada and Western Europe like Vancouver, Calgary, Toronto, Amsterdam, Vienna, Zurich, Geneva but we also have Japan and Australia in that list. It makes for an interesting read. Do share your thoughts.

@CarolDM The writer must have based the observations on past travel as well as printed and other material.

I see Vienna is No 1 and it's certainly a lovely city but we also had our wallet stolen there.

I cannot say that I enjoyed very much staying in Vienna and winters are deadly cold there.

You forgot to mention Switzerland, there are 2 cities ranked for our small country Geneva is ranked number 6 and Zürich number 3. I definitely like more Zürich than Geneva. Vienna is number 1 and I would never live there.

@LadyDuck I think the cultural aspects of Vienna scored heavily but it scored very good in Healthcare as well.

@RubyHawk Often such lists are good to read and listen to, but our own realities and priorities are far from these! So how is this week shaping for you.

@Nakitakona Nor Indian cities. Though some are planned but most are over-crowded and have other infra issues as well.

@Nakitakona Often high unemployment and lack of moral values of people living in cities contributes to higher crime.

I also read somewhere that Vienna was the most livable city as of 2022. To be honest I have yet to find a city I see myself aging at.

@Greencindere With travel costs high enough, traveling to different countries is almost impossible. But the ultra rich can travel to these various cities.

@Greencindere Or one needs to book in advance and try to get the best deals from Airbnb and other similar agencies.

I like the idea of a travel writer story on which cities they like to call their favorite cities to live. I prefer small cities with warm weather.

@Deepizzaguy Big cities have their plus too but I find lower traffic congestion in some of the good smaller cities.
