A family who lives in a home in Frederick Maryland is grateful that their pet Cairn Terrier named Bear alerted his owners who were asleep around 4am on Monday a couple of hours before sunset by barking a lot in an effort to wake up the two family members when a huge fire broke out.
The act of Bear making all of that noise worked to the point that the couple woke up and saw that their house was on fire, one of the family members called 911 to inform them about the house being on fire.
The good news is that the dog and his owner are safe and sound. The bad news is that the fire was so huge that it took around 50 to 60 firefighters from Frederick County Rescue of to put out the fire in about one hour.
The cause of the fire is being investigated by the authorities. The house where Bear and his owners lived was completely destroyed.
Even though the home was destroyed by the fire, no one was injured.

@RubyHawk I am sure that the owners of Bears owe their lives to him warning them to get out of the burning building.

My parents used to breed dogs and one of the ones they sold alerted the owner to a fire and saved their owners life. About a year later it was killed from chasing a car.
When I first met my brother in law we went to visit him where he was living in Fredericksburg Maryland.

@Deepizzaguy I had only seen the dog once since she was a puppy. Sad for her owners though.

I'm sorry about the house; but I'm glad Bear alerted the family to the fire.
