I have posted about this before but, seem to keep coming back to it. Mostly because I feel it is so important for us to understand the work these marvels are doing. There are about 20,000 species of bees in the entire world. That includes bumblebees, honey bees, and solitary bees. There are only 8 species of honey bees that actually produce that wonderful golden sweetener so many of us enjoy. That includes those tended by beekeepers and those living in the wild. It is important to note here that there are some other types of bees and, even other insects that make honey but, it is not useable for commercial production or human consumption.

Yup! I've been watching the videos about the different types of bees on YT lately. It's very interesting.

We don't use honey that often; but it would be a crime to lose these species of bees.

I have always thought bees were to be treasured, especially those who produce honey.

Did you read the ones I did a few months ago? I did several on how they produce the honey and such things about them and their lives.

The discussion of bees always fascinates me! I didn't know until the last few years that there are so many flavors of honey, depending on the honeybee species and the type of flower they pollinate. Fascinating!
