I had to get my cctv monitor replaced today as that was out of order. I had to shell out near about Rs.5000 including service charges. I hardly spend anything on eatables. Most of my earnings goes into the maintaining my household gadgets. A few days ago my inverter was damaged because of my air fryer. I had to shell out more than 2000 rupees to get to repaired. Is it the same with you at home?

Oh dear sorry to hear that happened to both cctv monitor and also the inverter. No, luckily most things here are in good repair the gadgets I mean. I put my earnings to bills and more bills..just utilities, rent etc.

What does putting earings to bill mean? Have you borrowed money against it just like we take gold loan in India?

@aninditasen It was expensive, the old one lasted 23 years, but sadly it could not be repaired.

@LadyDuck That's great. 23 years is a long time. I have to replace my washing machine every 10 to 12 years.

Thankfully I haven't had to fix or replace anything in the house recently. But when one things needs fixing or replacing it's guaranteed something else will too

@aninditasen I must have jinxed myself because today my desktop computer isn't working. I"m hoping my daughter can figure out what's wrong as I really don't want to have to spend money on it,

That's right. Electronic gadgets are unpredictable where longevity is concerned.

I am feeling irritated to give fines due to my driver overspeeding my first and new car. We have never had such expenses before

Not really, but it seems to go in spurts, if one thing breaks something else will.

That's true. In India too we say when you have a bad period problems come in a trail and expenditures too.

Lately I haven´t had to repair gadgets. Yesterday I gave to Tania a wonderful blender that had been Claudia´s until a small piece had to be changed. She decided to replace it instead and I took the old one home meaning to have it fixed some day (it is an Osterizer, one of the old good ones). Tania saw it yesterday, saw that the motor was perfect and asked me whether she could have it. So it is one gadget less.

You are lucky enough your old gadgets are still running well. My blender is in good condition and I had just to change the wire once which cost very less.

Most of my earnings goes to bills, in particular electricity as we have to turn on the A/C very often.

Thank God I don't have a AC or that would have been another expensive maintainance gadget.
