You Can't Talk to People Anymore

This is sort of an extension of the cat posts. (Venting a bit.) I get so frustrated. I have had such a problem with getting three kittens surrendered and one female adult spayed. (*By the way she is home now and resting comfortably. She was pregnant AGAIN which is rather sad) I thought I was going to do okay today and then as the whole endeavor began to fall apart I began to also fall apart. I had started calling animal surrender places around the valley back in June. There seemed to be a lot online. I even called an animal transport place when I saw I was going to have trouble with transportation so early in the morning. I left a message and my email address for an answer I was hoping to get answers to some questions I had. I got a message back saying I could be banned from the site for leaving an email address. Okay! This place actually wanted me to pay the fee AND make an appointment before I could talk to anyone. Bull! I want to know what I am getting and who is going to be transporting our animal before I put forth $$. I wonder how many people really pay beforehand. Is that normal business nowadays? But I did try to find other avenues besides the Humane Society early on when I realized this could become problematic. So, tomorrow we have still another appointment with the HS for the surrender of the three kittens. Will have to call an Uber because our family friend has to work.

It is a shame that some animal surrendering places act mean to their customers the way they treated you.

I agree. Why couldn't they work with us? I guess they just have too many animals being surrendered and can't make allowances.

@celticeagle That is most likely why the persons in the animal surrendering places acted mean toward a lot of us since it probably breaks their heart dealing with many animals in their workplace.

I wish you all the best, I know how it is, I have the two kittens, Ringo and Michelle, I chose to keep, and now their Mama Silky gave birth to five more kittens, but my friends will be taking care of the adoptions, but in the meantime, I have 7 cats in my apartment,

Ugh! We always had a lot of cats when I was a kid. Now living in Housing we just can't.

If you have space in your garden you can make a temporary wooden house for the cats instead of depending on the HS.

I wish I had a garden. We have no place to put a wooden house. We live in an apartment, no garden. Barely a yard.

@celticeagle You can have cats tent if you have a balcony.

I would never pay a fee before an appointment. I certainly hope it works out this time. Sorry the cat is pregnant again.

Maybe this means you MUST keep the kittens?

Maybe this means we must be evicted then. Housing won't allow too many cats.

Never pay ahead. That one sounds like a scam to me. Hope you get them dropped off this time.

I wouldn't pay ahead. I wanted to talk to someone. I hope this actually happens today and we get this all done.

Have you looked for local rescues in the area? You can find a listing of them on Petfinder.com I would be leery of surrendering them to a humane society or shelter that isn't no-kill. They typically euthanize owner turn-ins.

@NJChicaa .......No, not at all. But, I want to know what is going on before I pay out money.

@celticeagle That is not unusual. It helps the rescue to pay for food, vet care, medications, etc.
