Yes, you can dress up your cat or dog in designer clothing if you so desire, and if you can afford the hefty prices l have seen in cat boutiques. Yes there are many cat and dog boutiques around where you can find lots of goodies to keep your pet happy and content. Apart from designer clothing ( there was a cat hoodie which cost about $32.00.) _ you can choose from a variety of treats, toys, food, furniture including beds. Have you ever visited a pet boutique? Would you think of dressing up your cat or dog? How would you know if clothes make them uncomfortable ? After all , they already have their fur to keep them warm.

I have not visited one no. But I have heard of these boutiques. I also have heard of pet cafes. Where the cats dine as well with people Oh sure I would, if I was rich enough, my pets would be all dolled up but not to their uncomfortable no.

@RebeccasFarm, wow sexy cat dining with people. It's a family member by the way.

I don't even buy my own kids designer clothing . My friend gives her weimaraner dog a new birthday hat each year . . . I don't think her dog likes it, but she makes her dog sit through a photo session til she gets a good photo for social media . Poor dog!

@Kandae11 Oh yah, I'm sure the prices are crazy! Halloween costumes for pets are already out in some pet stores . . . poor pets whose owners make them wear it!

Ha , you should see the prices for some of the outfits. I do not think cats or dogs would feel comfortable wearing clothes.

I would never dress up a cat or dog in clothes. That is just silly. My friend used to buy Halloween shirts for her tiny dogs.

I never visited a pet boutique but I would never try to dress my poor kitty, I know he would hate.

@Kandae11 The only time I tried to put a Christmas hat on the head of my cat, he became crazy and run away and disappeared all the day long.

@LadyDuck Seems like there is a crochet cat hat book by one Sara Thomas, gives you patterns for hats for your pets. That poor cat, he stayed away for a day hoping you would forget.

Ha, ha. The poor kitty might be so uncomfortable - or he might be happy.

@Kandae11 Aww, thank you! I’m so happy to be here again. I’m sure those pet outfits are expensive. So silly in my opinion.

That looks quite unnatural. But I do see people putting a cloak (just an ordinary cloak, not designer clothing) on dogs in winter days here.

I guess they do feel the chill if they are not native to a certain climate.

I would probably be losing fingers if I tried to dress up Nico! I am shocked he let me put a collar on him. He hated the bell that came with it though, and I had to remove it. I was afraid he was going to swallow it.

I really do not think cats should be dressed up , a collar is quite enough. Reminds me of that tale from my childhood called "Puss in Boots".

I'm not sure about designer clothes but that picture is hysterical. I'm sure that cat isn't too happy in that outfit. My dog has a few sweaters for the winter and she doesn't seem to mind wearing them on a cold day when she goes out for her walk. But we didn't spend a lot of money on them so she's not a designer fashionista

You are right about that , he or she doesn't look too happy in that outfit . l don' t see a problem if a dog wears a sweater during the winter but l think a cat should be warm enough.

Neither me. Eventually l may decide to get a cat or two - but the most they would wear would be a collar.

I think it would be nice if I did and had the luxury.

First of all, the picture you used made me LOL! I do buy my cat special food, I sometimes buy him toys, I've bought him a couple of beds, and he gets treats every day. But as far as dressing him up, first of all I would have to wear protective gear in order to do so. Secondly, I don't think there are very many cats (or dogs) that would feel comfortable in clothing, which is meant for humans because we don't have fur. Just my take on it.

Your take on it makes a lot of sense. Nature did not intend for cats and dogs to be wearing clothes. People think of different ways to make money and they are making it with their pet boutiques

Yes, I'm sure people are making a killing with these pet boutiques, especially since fewer people of this generation are having children, so they have a pet that they treat like a baby. More power to them, though!

I don't think pets would be happy dressed up in clothes. They might feel hot and uncomfortable.

I feel the same way, it does look kind of silly. However if they are happy and the pet is happy - then so be it.

Long time ago my mom even crochet a sweater for our dog but he didn't like it at all. That's quite disappointing!
