Since @58lordstreet asked so nicely and because some people get headaches from country music, I’m going to throw you a bonus song with “talk” in the title. This was the last song cut, so if this was a “top 11” this would be song #11. Enjoy. BONUS: Talking in Your Sleep - The Romantics Hope you aren’t thinking of the Crystal Gayle song. Nah, I’m not crazy about that tune. The Romantics, on the other hand, had a great post-punk/power-pop sound that made them thoroughly enjoyable in the early 80s. “What I Like About You” is a classic 80s song. This was far and away their biggest hit, and probably the only Romantics song you know if you only listen to the radio. That’s a shame. But it was the nature of the beast in the 80s. Talking in Your Sleep Written by Coz Canler, Jimmy Marinos, Wally Palmar, Mike Skill, and Peter Solley Recorded by The Romantics From In Heat, 1983 When you open up your heart and the truth comes out:

Oh, golly! This was a fantastic blast from the past! It reminds me of when I was a young lady in the 80s!

Music will take you back like that, won’t it! I used to not think of myself as “young” in the 80s, but then the 00’s came around and I turned 40 so I guess I was young then.

@gtdoss — I’m a mere lass of 62 myself.

Yes, exactly. One song I liked at first was Light My Fire then about 6 weeks later it was boring. Way overplayed.

@rebelann — I agree with you on that. I don’t dispute that the Doors had some major achievements, but I personally never “got into” them.

So glad you enjoy hearing it again! With these “big hits” sometimes they get overplayed and people roll their eyes and go, “Oh, no, not that song again!”

What a handsome group, such nice full heads of hair! Music, I don't remember it. I didn't listen to this type of music(or others)during the 1980s.

@FourWalls During the 80s, I wasn't into radio or any music groups. My son Chad was bigtime, into music groups and his stereo system during those years.

"What I Like About You" a song I really like from this band was not even a Top 40 hit which I found surprising. The song did eventually get a lot of air play and became the group's most recognized song. Another reason I liked it was when I would go listen to bar bands in my area it was a favorite tune for them to play. "Talking in Your Sleep" although very recognizable and catchy, I did not like as much. Different strokes I guess

I’m with you: I thought “What I Like About You” blows this song out of the water! But the “hit charts” didn’t agree. Hey, but I got a countdown out of it!

I do not know this one at all. I don't think I have ever talked in my sleep but a couple of time I have woken up screaming but that was a long time ago

It seems forever and a day since I last heard this one. Always liked it, probably the only song from them that I do

It is indeed. There are some songs you can hear about three notes from and say, “Yeah, that’s an 80s song” (or a 60s song, or a 70s song).
