One of the unintended side effects of these countdowns is having people guess what’ll show up. In the case of @xander6464 there’s high-stakes betting in Vegas (), but Some Guy Sitting on His New Couch had a premonition this would show up on the list of songs with “listen” in the title. And waddaya know, here it is! #9: Listen - Chicago Technically, “Chicago Transit Authority.” The bus line didn’t like their name being used by a bunch of long-haired rockers, so the long-haired rockers changed their name to just Chicago. After all, they had to put up with the White Sox going 87 years between World Series victories and the Cubs and their 108-year drought, not to mention Al Capone, so what’s a little rock and roll gonna do to their image? And if you only know this band for the mushy mush they put out in the 80s, I’d suggest that you put on your seat belt. You’re going to hear some killer bass from Peter Cetera (before he ruined the band with the aforementioned smarmy stuff), the late Terry Kath’s brilliant guitar work, and the horn section that made Chicago one of the premier bands of the 70s. Listen Written by Robert Lamm Recorded by Chicago From Chicago Transit Authority, 1969 It could be so natural:

I wonder who the 'Some Guy Sitting on His New Couch' could possibly be? (That's a joke)

@PhredWreck — since she doesn’t know any of this music, I’d personally say “downhill.”
