While out ambling about, this morning, I spotted this total classic. A 1933 MG ML Magna. I know absolutely nothing about cars, but this one, in beautiful condition, caught my eye. I was told that the author Barbara Cartland used to race one at Brooklands, in the 1930s.

@arthurchappell Nor I, anymore. I dread to think what the insurance would be like and it would be a bit chilly in the winter

This MG is beautiful, I love those old cars, all with a "personality", not like the modern cars, all the same. I loved British cars more than all the others, we had a Jaguar in the 70s and 80s.

@Ronrybs The Jaguar E type was the most beautiful Jaguar ever designed. We had the XJ6, that was a nice car. The modern ones are not pretty.

I think that up to the E type, Jaguars were very distinctive cars. Not that keen on the modern designs. There is a certain something about the 30s designs

Those old designs are attractive and a rather powerful colour. Modern designs seem to lack a certain something

These old cars certainly have a lot of eye appeal, don't they? I guess Barbara's would have been pink. It seems everything else was.

I hadn't thought of that, now I am wondering what colour her racing car was!

That is a beautiful car. My Dad used to be President of an antique car show and most weekends my brother and I would go to different places in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Delaware where the shows were. I loved the American muscle cars and cars like your picture.

On a trip to LA, I went to an impromptu car meet. While not a fan of muscle cars, they are certainly impressive. It was nice to see Jaguars and MGs, a long way from home
