Known for his military mind Genghis Khan founded the Mongol Empire in 1206. This united many nomadic tribes and became the largest contiguous empire in history. He was one of the most important conquerors of all time.
But, did you know that he also created the first international postal system? One of his earliest decrees as Khan was forming the mounted courier system known as the "Yam'. It not only allowed information and goods to travel as never done before but it also served as the Khan's eyes and ears.

I haven't known it. In our history, we have also an ancient means of communications such as horse rider wandering telling the people about the decrees of the chieftain or a crier known as umalohokan.
