Mutation?

This does not look like a mutation but a brand new colour that has come up in our garden. We had a pink and white combine colour of pentas - a plant that was gifted to me by a friend a long time ago.
Recently however a new plant has come up and I see mauve (purple) coloured pentas in bloom. It is not understood how nature works.
I am not going to solve the mystery but just thank Nature gifting this to me.

Sometimes a change in the soil can do that. And that can happen without you doing anything. Different plants use different nutrients and that can cause it.

@wolfgirl569 And this happens only with a few types of flowers I notice.

@allknowing Mom had one that did that. I forget what the plant was. But as nutrients in the soil changed the color of the flowers did too each year.

I would not attempt to explain either. Those flowers are beautiful.
