Finally Submitted Complaint to Home Office

After 3 months and half of patiently waiting I finally found it justifiable to submit a complaint. It is more of an appeal really and I hope it is respectful enough and I hope it yields a good result.
Good morning! I am writing really in despair as I do feel like my visa application hasn't progressed at all since I applied for it. I submitted my biometrics on 16th of June and have continually been patiently waiting for a result but now I am on the 14th week of waiting almost 4 months really. I was calling home office support only to keep getting told at first to wait for 8 weeks then for 12 and onwards. This would've all been okay if during the wait I can actually work too but since I am from Guernsey I am sort of from the UK but not quite from the UK. And my new employer cannot in the mainland said they cannot allow me to work until I get my new visa and BRP.
I have been unemployed for almost 4 months now with no source of funds. My partner has been carrying me these past months as I have run out of savings because of the prolonged wait. I also cannot work as a nurse even part time as I have quit my job in Guernsey as before I did so I was told by a home office support that I can continue working while waiting for the visa result. Everytime I check my UKVI account it keeps on saying futher actions must be completed but I have done them all and there are no submit buttons and this gives me more anxiety really. Can someone please at least confirm if they have received my application at all and if it will be processed in eventuality. I did not want to sound selfish as I know I am not the only one applying for a visa but I am stuck in a foreign country with no means of income and I am not even sure if my visa application has been submitted right as it still shows step 6. I would at least like to know that it will be processed and my wait is not in vain. It would help ease my anxiety as well. Thank you kindly.

This is a polite letter and I hope you will hear from them soon.
I cannot believe that they are so incompetent. They should at least keep you updated about what is going on. What if they have lost your paper? Did they check if they have submitted everything to the competent office?
I wish you luck, this is becoming a tragic-comedy.

Exactly what's worrying me night and day Anna as although the biometrics office sent me a confirmation they have received my documents, the visa page in my UKVI remains in step 6 and is still not updated up to now. It makes me worry if there is still something pending that I do not know of. Even the simple task of updating this would've been really helpful to alleviate the anxiety from waiting.
More jokes, guess how long they can give me a response for my complaints?

I have read the responses and your comments to them and my heart goes out to you. As Anna says, they are incompetent. But they are also inhuman. You have needs and they should at least tell you in time if they need yet another paper from you.

That is precisely what my friends told me. It is quite unjust. I have heard from my employer that she is waiting on 3 nurses as their visa are also delayed like mine. I could only hope that they have means to support themselves while awaiting their visas. It is just not right to expect someone jobless to survive more than 3 months.
I was worrying about that paperwork side too. I am worried they will tell me something is missing and cause more delays.

I am sorry to hear you are still waiting for your visa. My country really is the pits. We are in a mess in more ways than one, so I hope you have a plan B if you don’t get either the visa or a reply that gives you some comfort soon. This is an unacceptable time to wait and they should at the very least be compensating you financially for the loss of income during your wait.

@Orson_Kart That is really terrible. I know everyone should be allowed to mourn but a whole office? That's a bit ridiculous isn't it. They should be paid performance based really. Or better yet they should be more transparent about how delayed they can be so at least people can pre-empt or do some saving before applying for their visas as this is looking more like a forced Sabbatical now.

@flapiz Well many government departments took 10 days off to mourn. Ridiculous imo but they seem to please themselves. The Home Office (who I assume are dealing, or not dealing with your visa) would probably be one of those departments. They should be working longer not shorter hours to get on top of the backlog. Trouble is they don’t have to work to get paid, they just get paid regardless. If I was in charge, they’d all be sacked and I’d make you Queen.
