You know there’s some great music ahead if this guy can only make it to #8 on this countdown of songs that have “nothing” in the title. Make sure you watch for NJ Chic’s countdown of “How could she not use ‘Nothing Compares 2U’!?!?!?” in contrast to this one. Meanwhile, here’s an old favorite for today’s song. #8: Let Nothing Come Between You - Warren Zevon Got the license Got the ring Got the blood test and everything I can give you a million reasons why I love Warren Zevon so much. Being able to write a love song like this is just one of them. At the time (1982) he was dating — and even engaged to — Knots Landing actress Kim Lankford. Taking advantage of that, he had half the cast of Knots Landing on the cover of the album. The album is so much better than the sales would have indicated, but that’s true of every Zevon album except Excitable Boy. Let Nothing Come Between You Written by Warren Zevon Recorded by Warren Zevon From The Envoy, 1982 She’s a soft-spoken woman:

It's okay if the album sales aren't that great, Doesn't reduce the quality of the music. Btw I'm listening to the song hahaha. It's nice.

I understand that completely, and it’s my philosophy. Good music and popular or good-selling music aren’t always the same thing. In fact, as I get older, I think they’re almost mutually exclusive.

@FourWalls I don't know how it used to be, But now people buying albums are just fans, they are competing to buy many albums to break records. But good music must be enjoyed by everyone, not only fans.

I figured most people won’t know most songs on most of my lists. That’s why I did a “big #1 songs” countdown a few years ago….just to prove that I DO know some hits!

@FourWalls Your posts are always interesting but I don't always play the songs as Vince often has music playing. I do listen when I can.

Never heard this song before. Not releasing it could be the reason.

It was released…just never promoted. If you look at the book of top 40 hits versus the songs that were on the “hot 100” but didn’t make the top 40 you’ll see a gigantic difference.

That isn’t a bad thing. There was some incredible music from the 40s and 50s. I’m partial to Rosemary Clooney, who was from Kentucky.
