A moose sighting in Maine

Moose sighting in Bangor Maine on Monday morning.

I am not that familiar with the odds of persons in Bangor Maine having a chance to see a moose walking around their neighborhood. The children who were inside the Summit Learning Center as well as their teacher were amazed to see a moose walking outside of the building on Monday morning. The children inside of the daycare center were amazed to see a moose live and in person. After the moose left the daycare center, the moose was seen eating food outside of Frank's Bakery before the Maine Game Wardens returned to his home that same day.

I’d bet it was a lot of excitement for the kids. Glad they returned the moose to his home.

@RubyHawk Same with me. I have only moose on television shows myself.

@Deepizzaguy So would I. I’ve never seen a moose other than in pictures.

I will never get to see a moose, they don't come down this far because it's too hot and dry and there is very little vegetation.

You're correct, moose seem to prefer the cooler climate areas.

I've seen moose in a zoo. They are very ungainly looking creatures.

You are right that the moose is a very ugly animal.

I'm glad the moose was returned to his home. I remember when we were in Maine...we looked for moose every day and never saw one...just hoof prints and some droppings.

Not sure how common they are in Maine, but they are routinely sighted in Alaska. and walk in the streets when the snow is deep. In NH they have moose signs everywhere, but I never saw one there. I think they are mostly North of there.

I also think that the moose does make their home in the northeast part of our nation.

Wow, it's great that the children got to see such a magnificent animal up close, especially since they were inside and safe.

That is true since the children did see a moose in person from a safe distance as well.
