Oh boy. Here we go. We said we wanted to get some use out of the camper before we winterize it just before Thanksgiving. So, I booked a spot for the 22nd of October at Sundermeier RV park in St. Charles, Missouri, about an hour and a half away. It will be our first "real" experience. So far as my "reservation" is concerned, it is a pull through site, so we will not have to practice any backing. I think it should work out just fine. Being that it is October, we are going to have to learn how to run the heat in the camper. But I also have lots of firewood, and will likely bring the fire pit in case they do not have one there. I think it should be a fun, rewarding, and LEARNING experience. What say you?

I am looking forward to it, and it is nice that it is relatively close to home. A good trial run.

You and your wife will love camping. I just know it. Getting a pull through will make it perfect, you won’t have a worry about backing up.

That is my thinking as well. I don't mind learning and getting better at backing, just think it would be better to learn some of the other stuff first like set up, hook up, and take down.

@porwest It will take awhile to get familiar with setting up and takin down.

@RubyHawk Yes. It will. We are going to probably come up with some sort of checklist.

I say it’s funny that you have to run the heat in October. I’m still running my a/c here where I live. Lol This will be a great experience for you. The bad part is, if everything goes well and you love the experience, you’re going to be stuck waiting for spring to arrive before you can use it again.

@porwest We'll be back in the low 80's this weekend as well. Which doesn't bother me at all, since there will be no humidity to go with it.

@moffittjc The humidity is always what makes any heat unbearable. Amazing the difference when the humidity is low.

We only just recently had to turn the heat on. Incidentally it is back off. 80s this weekend. It's been a roller coaster. lol Yeah, when it is stored for good in probably November, I am going to be a bit impatient to get to use it again.

From what I have heard and seen on the many YouTube videos I have been watching, the learning will never end.

I think you hit it in three - fun, rewarding AND learning. Taking your own fire-pit is a good idea.

You are going to LEARN SO MUCH! AND you will run into some quirky things that you need to overcome or fix. Good luck!
