In the fourth season of "Buffy, the Vampire Slayer" episode 10 is entitled "Hush". It was written and directed by the series creator, Joss Whedon. It originally aired in the United States on December 14, 1999. In the entire 44 minutes of that episode, there were only 17 minutes of dialogue.
I wondered while watching this episode.....What The Hey?! I think it is one of the weirdest episodes in the entire series.
It is about a group of fairy tale ghouls named "The Gentlemen" who come to Sunnydale and steal everyone's voices. This is so no one can scream when The Gentlemen cut out their hearts. Bald-headed thin men in black suits with dominating teeth ravage the town and Buffy and her friends must keep some semblance of order during the chaos. In the end, her screaming finally explodes The Gentlemen into pieces.
This episode of the series was highly praised and it was the only one nominated for an Emmy Award for Outstanding Writing for a Drama Series.
The reason Whedon had written this episode was that he had read a critical response to the series. It was said that the dialogue was the most successful aspect of the show. (I have to agree about the dialogue. I think it is both unique and amusing. One of the main reasons I watch the series over and over again.)

I remember when this show was on television and I remember watching part of one show but it didn't hold my attention. *shrug* We can't all like the same shows.

I didn't care for the ending at all. I still watch it all of the time. One of the cable stations has it on during the week. I have always enjoyed it. And Angel, the spin off.
