Hi guys, Hope you all are doing good. I am doing well too. I came to know that today 14th October, is celebrated as " National Dessert Day". The origin of Dessert Day observed firstly isn't known but the meaning of "dessert" term is derived from a French verb named "Desservir" which means "to clean the table". This is because the dishes from main course are cleaned after which the dessert is served. In India, there are a wide variety of desserts available like Cakes, Pastries, Ice creams etc. However, there is wide variety of Indian traditional sweets made and relished in different parts of India. In my state Gujarat and especially in my city Surat, the most popular traditional sweets are Sutarfeni, Ghari, Kajukatlis, Jalebi, Srikhand etc. My city is famous for delicious good quality sweets which you can keep eating and it's difficult to resist them. I like everything sweets. We as a family have weakness for sweets. From chocolates, cakes, pastries, icecreams to traditional sweets. We relish everything. A list of my favourite desserts are Rasgulla and Rasmalai, bengol traditional sweets. I also like Gajar ka Halwa i.e. it's a sweet made from Carrots. Let's indulge ourselves in desserts today without worrying about calories. Let me know your favourite desserts. Have a good day!! Take care!!

Carrot season is coming near. Once the red carrots come to the market, carrot halwa becomes a weekly preparation in my house. And it continues till the carrots are there in the market. I have diabetes but still I can't resist rasmalai . So, better I keep it out of my sight.

@Rashnag You too take care. Soon you can have carrot haiwa. By November end, the red carrots come to the market. The orange ones don't taste that good in halwa.
