Yesterday started off hot and sunny - I'd posted a pic of the sunrise in the morning. We left home at 6.30 pm when the sun was just setting and suddenly all hell broke loose. A few drops of rain splattered om the windscreen and then the rain became torrential!! It was difficult to drive and there was thunder and lightning. It turned out to be one of the biggest spells of rain we had - thankfully there were brief respites and we could attend an event, dinner and visit friends.
We returned in light rain and it poured after midnight too!

I'm glad you were able to attend the function without being bothered by the rain.
It stormed here last night, too. We had hail and then the rain poured down. The rain lasted about two hours and then just stopped.

@pitstop Yes, it can. I haven't been outside today so have no idea if we lost tree limbs to the hail last night.

We sometimes get this kind of weather too. Sunny in the morning, thunderstorm with pouring rain in the afternoon.

When that happened to me, I usually stopped driving to find a safer place and wait until the rain let up.
