Why Not Charge Him for It?

The DOJ is saying now that they are running out of money on the investigation of the Jan. 6 insurrection. I think they should charge Trump for it. I have seen people who were found guilty of starting forest fires charged with the fire fighting expenses. It is really ridiculous for them to stop the investigation. Once they have started something like that they really need to bring it to its conclusion. What do you think?

What does DOJ mean? Not all myLot members are American citizens.

Thanks for asking. American lotters often forget that the rest of us don´t know their slang. That, by the way, has turned worse with the use of technology.

Somehow I doubt it's all about money. They could be finding they really don't have a leg to stand on.

I seriously doubt that.

I don’t think they’d ever collect, in the first place. I think most of Trump’s billions comes from Monopoly money, not US currency. I also find it hard to believe that they’re “running out of money” after the highly-publicized hearings. I agree with Kayla: unless they have video of Trump explicitly saying, “I want you to attack the Capitol and establish me as king of America” it’s going to be difficult, if not impossible, to prove beyond a reasonable doubt, which is what our system requires. The fact that people still worship this clod proves that there is reasonable doubt. Having said that, he will still have to answer for taxes and those top secret documents.

I agree. I am just so frustrated. He needs to be found responsible for some of this stuff. True that they need more evidence. It is just very frustrating. He skates by too much.

@FourWalls ........That would be great. It's unfair for his cohorts to always get the book thrown at them.

@celticeagle — I’m going to say something kinda funny, on the surface, but then again, it might need consideration. For eons and decades mobsters got away with things because they could never prove beyond a reasonable doubt that the crimes were ordered by the mobster. Then came RICO. I wonder if they could file charges under the RICO laws?

I would much rather my tax dollars go towards something useful. Endless investigations into made-up crimes, committee after committee formed, task' forces that do nothing. It's all government waste. People shout endlessly about wasteful government spending but can't stop yelling for somebody to be indicted or impeached or some other legal bs. It's a game of high stakes poker and we the people are nothing more than bleacher fans throwing our money away on overpriced popcorn.

I think the investigation has run long enough. Let's get to the meat of it now. Charge Trump, charge the American people...just be done with it.

All this time has been spent being thorough and several of them are being charged nearly daily. I hope to see something with Trump soon.

The idea is absolutely ridiculous. I guess you would also be okay with charging Bill for all the investigations we had to do when he lied to the American people about Monica? Or should we charge Hillary Clinton for the investigations on Benghazi or her server and lost emails? Should we just start sending bills to everyone? By the way, the democrats have cost us more with all of this stuff than anyone, so MAYBE I might actually be okay with that. lol

Sure as long as they can draw it out and use every way possible to keep it out of court for as long as humanly possible like Trump does. At least the Democrats DO SOMETHING. Republicans just act like juveniles and get nothing done.

@celticeagle You must have already forgotten about your $2 gas, the secure border, North Korea stopping testing missiles, Iran getting farther from, not closer TO going nuclear, the lowest black, Hispanic and women unemployment in history, the massive increase to the median income, the explosion of returning manufacturing jobs, achieving oil independence and a whole host of other things. Yeah, see, the difference is that we did things that made life better. Democrats are making life worse. You see, the democrats love to say they want to "level the playing field." What they really mean is that they want everyone to be equally poor. And based on what I see now? They seem to be doing a good job at that.
