Steven Jorgensen who is the father of his 12 year old daughter named Ella used his first aid skills that he learned when he was with the United States Marine Corps (USMC) was scared when Ella was playing outside of her grandparents' home in Sun City West Arizona on Saturday during a thunderstorm. Ella was struck by a bolt of lightning after a loud sound of thunder preceded the lightning bolt which knocked the little girl out a light. Steven went to use CPR on his daughter outside of the grandparents' home after the incident in an attempt to revive her when he realized that he needed to take his daughter the home while another family member called 911 to ask for help. Steve used CPR on his daughter on three occasions until the paramedics showed up about three minutes later when they took over in an attempt to revive Ella before she was taken by ambulance first to Banner Thunderbird Medical Center and then she was transferred to Valleywise Health Medical Center where she is making a full recovery. Valleywise Health Medical Center Doctor Kevin Foster mentioned that thanks to the quick actions of Steve, the life of his daughter was saved. On a side note, I am sure that Ella will learn to never play outside of a house during a thunderstorm is dangerous.

I always worry about lightning striking. So far don’t know of anyone struck by lightening but we should be aware it can happen. I’m glad the little girl will be okay.

@Deepizzaguy I don’t like to be out side when it’s lightening. I used to get out and ride during a storm and watch lightening flashes. But no more.

Glad she survived. Most people struck by lightning die right away. It is a miracle and thanks for her knowledgeable dad in times like that

That would be every parent's worst nightmare surely - to have a child struck by lightning.

Any father would do his best for their children especially when they're in danger.

I have seen reenactments on television what it feels to be struck by lightning. It is very scary.
