I Miss My Earthly Parents

For a few weeks, I haven't been too active here. There are so many activities need to be done here. On November 1st, "All Saints' Day," is quickly approaching. We are going to pay a first visit to the graves of my earthly parents being together. I sincerely hope they are content to be with our Heavenly Father there now. However, we will adhere to timetables and visit there, possibly on October 28 and November 2. Are you going to visit your ancestors or loved ones on "All Saints' Day or All Souls' Day"? I don’t go to the cemetery on and particular day. My son and my mate were cremated. My sons ashes were released into a river he loved and my mates ashes were scattered on trails we walked when he was alive. I think of all my loved ones who have passed away every day.

@RubyHawk I always convince myself that way, too. I sometimes talk to them before going to sleep at night.

I can feel you. I always remember my parents every day, too. My mom is my best friend and it seems my day is not complete with her. That's the reason why I have a new chihuahua pet to take good care of. So that I would be busy on something or to talk with if no one is here at my house.

I noticed you haven't been on myLot very much. I'm glad it's other activities that are keeping you away. I was worried about you. We went to my parent's graves a couple of weeks ago.

I am glad that you visited them. I tried some online earning sites like myLot. Now, I am indulging myself to forums' sites. Of course, I am dealing other things offline. It is nice to see you again. Any new things happen to your life lately?

@DaddyEvil The two sites that I am working with are currently experiencing issues. Before this, I can earn a dollar or two every day. Are you having any health issues lately?

@Shavkat Are you doing well on other sites? Yeah, offline always gets us, especially when we don't want them to. Nothing new here... Just lots of doctor visits.

My parents chose to be cremated, so nothing to visit. Same goes for my husband's parents. Our cats whom we lost two of this year, are buried in our backyard.

I also think it is a good option to be cremated. There is no need to commute or drive to the cemeteries, too. I am sure they would be happy if being remembered every day not only these two-day holiday.

@Shavkat Yeah, exactly. My husband will occasionally speak to the animals we've buried in the back yard. And, while I don't mock your traditions, I was raised to believe you could speak to your missed loved ones anytime you pleased.

@kaylachan I do speak with them every day. It is a good way to process the longingness.

We usually visit on All Souls' Day, as I have to go to Italy I will go another day, too crowded roads on that day.

I agree. The visitation arrangements set forth by city officials are a good thing since they avoid an overcrowding of the public cemetery.

We Indians who are Hindus have a custom of going to the cremation ground and light lamps for our dear ones who left us but nowadays no one goes there.

Why no one? Is it because of this pandemic thing?

@Shavkat It's because we have nuclear families these days and no one likes to go to a cemetery all alone, that too after Sunset.

The cemeteries are too far to visit for now. But my family is always in my heart. They are missed every day.

I used to welcome the day with my mom and end the day with her before. I just missed my best buddy in life. I am sure she is happy with my old man now. If we cannot visit them, we can just offer some prayers and lit candles on their altars if there are.

So during all saints say you are supposed to visit twice? I am so sorry for how much you miss your parents. I can’t imagine how horrible it would be.

I don't have any family members buried in this area, otherwise I might consider it.

Not just part of Filipino tradition but it's celebrating the. memories of loved ones who are. no longer around physically. Actually we also visit them on other occasions like their bdays, anniversary, Christmas.

I hope we could visit them often. But then, we cannot due to certain constraints that are related to coronavirus thing. In the house, we made an altar for them and lit candles whenever we remember them.

My parents were cremated as per our custom. I think of them often and can feel their presence at times.
