An emu that got away from the Danvile pen in late July. The majority of the loose emus were recaptured by the authorities in Illinois. At least three emus are still on the run as of last week according to the authorities in Danville Illinois. A resident who lives in Vermillion County captured an image one emu who was in the backyard of his home last weekend. The emu was looking at the owner of the dog that were separated by a fence so a confrontation between the flightless bird who comes from Australia and the dog would happen. By the time that the homeowner contacted 911 to report the sighting of the emu in his backyard, when the wildlife officials showed up to try to catch the emu, the emu left the neighborhood. Thank goodness no one was hurt in this incident in Illinois last weekend since the emu is harmless.

The emu will likely starve if it isn’t found but, if they find it where will they take it?

The officials who catch the emu will take it back to the home in Danville farm where they got away.

@RubyHawk You are right since an emu that came from another nation getting lost in our nation would be bad news.

@Deepizzaguy That’s good that they know where it belongs.

One of the three was believed to have been hit by a bus last week, but has never been found. It, and two others that have not been located yet, either.

An emu has very strong toes and can kick in all directions. I hope they catch them all.

@MarieCoyle That is most likely what happened to the emus who ran away to the streets.

@Deepizzaguy Hey George, I wondered this myself. I had a friend years ago that had 2 emus, they were hard to control. Anyway, I looked it up, and it appears they were let out on purpose by someone being way too mischievous, but they caught the last missing emu.

Isn't Emu a harmless bird except to defend herself from other animal?

Emu by nature are harmless animals unless they are in danger of being harmed by others.
