Been at our staycation, and been to the local hour. It was fun. We're taking some time in our room before we go hit the hot tub. So far, so good. I'm loving it so far. So is George. Didn't get the room we hoped for, but this room is great too, It feels like home. Which I love. I thought I'd post an update here.

Agreed. I always pack a laptop when we go, just so I have something other than t.v. to do when I'm not outside.

@porwest They are designed to be. Hotels in of themselves are designed to be places to crash. You don't typically spend a lot of time in it, except to eat and sleep. Unless you're a tech nerd, often the t.v. they offer is limited. Simply put, the idea is to be out and about as much as possible. Which is why pools, hot tubs and gyms are very popular.

@kaylachan That's the only problem with hotel rooms. They can be SUPER boring. So, bringing something to keep you occupied is certainly a good idea.

It can and does mean that. But, it can also mean you're treating yourself, without having to travel far from home. Our house is about...six miles from the hotel we've chosen. And, it allows us to get away for a while, and from the daily grind that's our lives. To do something different, that we can't do at home.

It's like a vacation, only you stay in your home town/city. It typically entails staying overnight in a local hotel or something where you can enjoy yourself, and take a break from life.

@Nakitakona Yes, it is. Travel being the most expensive of it all.

@kaylachan That's it and it's less expensive compared to take a vacation somewhere.
