Yesterday was an eventful day.

The walkers in the kitchen

So, yesterday when my step-dad came down for his breakfast he said someone was coming with some toilet seats and walkers. When he came he was going to fix one of the bulky toilet seats (ones that are easy to get up off) to the downstairs toilet and I was going to tell him we wouldn't be able to open the washing machine door but my step-dad got there first! So I said, yeah we've got one of those but when it was on we couldn't open the washing machine door so Mum took it off and then she couldn't get it back on again afterwards. So it ended up not being fixed on and the guy left it by the sink. But the guy fixed another one to the upstairs toilet. Later I moved the downstairs one from by the sink and stuck it inbetween the toilet and washing machine at the back so it doesn't intrude on the washing machine door. I've told our friend Dawn on Facebook messenger that she can come and fetch her toilet seat, so then when she does we can move the new one to the cupboard. He also brought 2 walkers. My step-dad took one upstairs and left the other one in the kitchen where it's taking up more space along with Mum's other walker that she bought. My step-dad says my Mum should be coming out soon. He didn't say exactly when, he just said soon. Later I went to the big Tesco again. I got an art magazine, a prawn layered salad, a bottle of water and a sandwich for tomorrow when I go shopping down town. Then I got the usual veggies and stuff. My step-dad wanted brown bread, a tin of vegetable soup, mixed crisps, Brandenburg cake and a kit kat. I got them all but the only kit kats I could find were 4 bars with 4 parts to it, or chunky kit kats so I got the 4 bar ones. You can get ones with more bars with just 2 parts to them from the little Tesco but apparently not at the big one. I got some chamomile T-bags, some frozen diced onion and some no duck spring rolls. Then I got some washing up liquid and some synthetic and delicates liquid for the woolly loads. I payed and it was just 3:15pm! I'd told my step-dad to pick me up at 3:45pm again which means now I had half an hour to wait! I filled the time by looking at the books at the Tesco book swap, and sitting on a bench drinking some of my water. I went down on the lift at 3:40pm but my step-dad didn't arrive till 3:50pm! When we got home, my brother Dave was there delivering us some book shelves/storage shelves. He put them in the dining room against the back wall which means you can no longer fit a chair at that side of the table! Also the old telephone seat/table had to be moved so that a couple of chairs could be put there. We have 6 chairs but only 3 can go round the table, so now 2 of the chairs are stacked one upside down on the other up the corner, then we have Mum's waitress trolley, then the other chair just by the patio door. They put the telephone seat in the garage. But then last night I had the horrible thought if we left the telephone seat in the garage, the mice might get to it! We had an old 3 piece sofa set once that we were going to give to a friend from Church when she got married and moved out of home. But then when we went to get them out the mice had been at one of the sofas and it was ruined so it had to go to the tip. So today when my step-dad came down for his breakfast I said that I thought the mice might get to it and maybe I should put it in my bedroom instead. He said, what about if you've got mice in your bedroom? I said, I haven't got mice in my bedroom, or they would have eaten my clothes up the corner! So he said, OK. But I don't know when he's going to go and get it, and I've also got to find a place for it too! But I have a plan! I hope everyone is well. Have a great day.

@RubyHawk Thank you very much. She's getting around OK. She sometimes uses her walker to get around. We've got a nurse coming round 4 times a day to check on her and see if she needs anything. She usually says she doesn't need anything doing and the nurse is in and out in a flash!

It's Saturday here and it's market day. Our 10-year grandmother and me joined my wife in going to the market. Before she brought groceries, meat and veggies, we ate our breakfast to our good eatery inside the market.

That was ages ago! A fella's come to pick up those walkers now because Mum didn't need them anymore. Not the blue one with the wheels. That's my Mum's own that she uses when she goes out walking.

I agree that it would not be better to let the telephone seat in the garage. I hope there are no mice, but better to be careful. I see that your Mom is not yet back home.

The telephone seat is now in my bedroom, and thankfully the mice didn't get to it, so that's good.

@sharonelton Houses we’re never designed for people’s needs. I do hope you get your downstairs loo fitted with a suitable seat - preferably a nice comfy one.

Mum goes upstairs to the loo these days. When a raised seat is on our downstairs loo you can't open the washing machine door. I'm doing some washing now so it would not be convenient!

So what's your plan - just get it yourself? Hopefully you don't have mice in your bedroom!

My plan is to move my stool and put it in the living room in front of my organ. Then Mum's old handbags can go on the new shelves in the dining room. Then in my bedroom I will move some of my boxes of Lego, then put the telephone seat where the stool and boxes of Lego were. The boxes of Lego can then go on the table half of the telephone seat. I've still got a bit of sorting out to do for charity aswell and that will clear up some more space. And no, I don't have mice in my bedroom, or like I said, they'd have been eating through my clothes, and they haven't so that's OK. I might have spiders and woodlice, but not mice!

It's hard sometimes to juggle furniture around to make everything fit.

Yes, you are right. Now that the book shelves/storage shelves are in, Mum won't have room to put the ironing board up infront of the table! She says she'll probably put it up in the kitchen instead.
