A Bald Faced Lie

President Joe Biden was on the stump in Syracuse and the topic of gas prices came up, to which Biden outright lied to the American people. Not that Biden lying is anything new. He has had a long, well documented history of that. It's just a pretty bold one, and he knows it's a lie to boot. He made the statement that his policies have reduced gas prices by 40%, "saving American families money." But gas prices are 56% higher today than when he took office. The lie? Gas prices were $5 per gallon when he took office. In fact, the national average when Biden took office was $2.42 per gallon. The lie is made, of course, because the midterms are nearing. But Americans need to be smarter about what is actually being said, and understand, as they enter the voting booths, what they are voting for. When it comes to gas prices in particular, while paying 40% less is better than a month or two ago. If gas prices are still up 56%, that is the real story. That's the one you pay attention to. That's the one that matters. Because it is important to understand WHY gas prices are still up 56%. And that is because Biden reversed Trump's energy policies within hours of taking the oath of office. So, no matter what he has done to bring gas prices down, the reason they went up in the first place is because of what he did to make them go up. I know it sounds like a diss. But the fact is, it's the truth. You can't blame Putin. You can't blame the oil companies. You can only blame the man who directly sent the prices higher by removing drilling permits and taking away America's status as the #1 oil supplier to the world. The truth is important. Moreover, because the media is complicit in perpetuating and reinforcing the lies, as a responsible voter it is important to be able to find the truth on your own, and make it a part of your decision when voting. Many people said they hated Trump in part because he was a liar. The fact is that one liar was replaced with another—and yet the lies of Biden never get called out and no one holds Biden to the fire on his. In fact, they accept his lies as truth. It's actually quite bizarre.

Of course, everything has been one lie after another since day one. I am very concerned about the diesel shortage. Diesel stockpiles in the U.S. are reportedly at their lowest point since 2008, with only enough fuel for a 25-day supply. What happens when it runs out? Empty shelves.

We're already experiencing empty shelves here in California! I went shopping today, again, after having been to Wal Mart on Wednesday. The shelves are emptying there, in Von's and Food for less. I couldn't find half the items I needed. We don't have the 18 wheelers hauling merchandise that here was pre-biden (I don't respect him, so I don't capitalize his name). The other thing I noticed is that the merchandise even at Wal Mart is more expensive than before he went into office.

It is funny you mention the diesel shortage. I just wrote about it. lol. It is something we need to be VERY concerned about because it is not just about empty shelves, it is about more inflation. And we definitely do not need more of that.

@porwest I read about it last night and thought, why is nobody talking about this. And then I realized because Biden would be blamed for it. Nothing to see here.

Everything is 56% more expensive than two years ago. He’s making a fatal error believing the Democrats are going to retain (or increase) power because of abortion and Trump’s fiascos. If Orangeface goes to prison or remains a free man doesn’t matter when you can’t afford your groceries.

The economy is always one of the biggest factors when people make voting decisions, and this economy is certainly one where people are noticing quite a lot, smack dab directly. When you see empty shelves and sky high prices and you have to make cut backs to put gas in the car... People notice. It is funny to me that people ARE still hyper-focused on Trump considering he was responsible for one of the best economic periods we have seen in decades. It is what it is, and it is too late now. All we can do is hang on for dear life and hope we make it through it all. lol

Right now we can't even get doctors into our area. They are leaving faster than a speeding bullet because they can't afford the area and work the long hours that they do...some doctors are triple, and quadruple booked so they can make ends meet. They not only have their home expense but also that of being a doctor (malpractice insurance, rent, staff, and all the other expenses.)

@BearArtistLady California is a cesspool of liberal politics, high taxes, and whatever else you can think of. It is not surprising that California ranks the highest in the country for people leaving the state. The ONLY hope is that wherever these people go they do not take with them the liberal ideology they are trying to escape from. But then, the problem with liberals is that they do not grasp the source of their pain.

Very true. Did you see Biden taking a "joy ride" in some expensive car? My first thought was, "He just wasted enough gas on a PR stunt when some Americans can't even afford a third of that to go buy groceries."

It's also funny that he came out and said the economy was doing great after the latest jobs report was released. We haven't hit rock bottom yet, and of course the economy is NOT doing great; he just wants to pretend it is since it's midterm election season. And of course the jobs report looks okay right now, because we are heading into the holiday season and that's when companies hire more people for the holiday rush. It's a temporary thing. I can't believe people actually believe the filth and lies coming out of his mouth. He still continues to have no clue how to fix the economy.

I bet Biden blames Trump for the high has prices. I registered to vote finally but I think I missed the deadline so won’t be able to vote this time around.

Not sure how it works in New York, but you may still be able to. If nothing else you will be able to vote in the 2024 presidential one. As for high gas prices, Biden blames everyone else from the gas stations to the oil companies to Putin and whoever else he can try to point fingers too. But it's all on him.

No telling of lies or hiding the true high price of gas here in our poor economic country. I just wondering why the price of gasoline and diesel interchanged. Before gasoline costs high than diesel. Now it's the reverse. Diesel is higher than gasoline. Any idea?

Much of the higher price for diesel now is higher demand over the years. In turn in order to keep up with that demand more oil production had to be diverted to diesel production, and overall it lead to more need for more exploration and drilling which costs a ton. Those are the main reasons for it.

@Nakitakona Nope. The United States is actually the OIL RICHEST country in the world. When we shut our oil down... It put all the power in the hands of the rest of the world. Trump OPENED oil. Biden shut it down. Therefore, all the power is in the hands of OPEC and other oil producers, and they get to decide what the value of oil is.

@porwest Now I know the reason. I thought it was manipulated by our government. Thanks for pointing that out.
