Am I Too Early

I turned on my Christmas tree last night. It's eight weeks until Christmas and New Year's.
I know some of you don't want to think about Christmas until after Thanksgiving. However, the fact remains, it's coming soon. I also started watching Christmas movies. I saw a good one last night on Tubi - The Christmas Dance.
Christmas is such a beautiful time of year. Even the stores are gearing up for the holiday.
For me, it's never too early to celebrate Christmas and start decorating.
How about you? When do you decorate? Thanks for reading. The image belongs to me.

I don´t decorate for Christmas now. I always go to my daughter Claudia´s home for Christmas and I go to Dixie´s or to Dixie´s eldest daughter´s for New Year. So there is nobody to look at my tree.

@just4him I have always been "the one who picks the torn wraps from the floor". I has been my job for ages except for one year, a long time ago, that Claudia had a terrible back pain and I offered to cook if she´d pay for the groceries. Claudia later told me that mine had been her best present.

My house is all decorated for Halloween right now, but I am not opposed to starting the Christmas decorating right after that! I usually wait until around Thanksgiving, as we always get a live Christmas tree every year, so whenever we go to the lot and pick one out, that's usually when we start all our Christmas decorating.

@just4him The live tree is the only reason we don't decorate earlier. I would buy a tree earlier than Thanksgiving, but that is pretty much the timeframe of when all the tree lots will open up and start selling trees. If any were selling trees right now, I would go buy one!

@moffittjc Buying one this early, it would need to be one of those potted live trees. I've seen those too and they're nice.

Oh glad to see you active again!
You should stay in touch with your Friends here!!
By the way, we are just in process of winding down after Deepavali or Diwali - The Festival of Lights.
Now gradually we would be busy with our different works
Christmas thinking for us would be mainly around Mid December so still some time.

Yeah it was enjoyable though a bit hectic!
So you plan to be very active here or just come here randomly, as the time permits?

Our Christmas preparation started to get later and later. We used to prepare in November as all of the autumn birthdays were over by then... but we now have two more birthdays at the end of November. We also have a couple of December birthdays but they're adults so we don't have to worry too much about them
I've picked up a couple of Christmas gifts but that was only because I happened to see them when getting something else, and it worked out cheaper to buy them all at the same time.
We will probably put up our tree a week before Christmas - I had told my husband that I'd like a new tree. I've had the same one since I moved in here 8 years ago and it's getting a bit old. I'd also like to have new things that are mine and my husband's choices rather than just whatever I'd got before I married him!
I will admit, though, that I have already watched a Christmas film this year. I think I watched it in August. It was 'Thomas Kinkade's Christmas Cottage'. It's not the kind of thing I'd usually watch but I'd just finished watching the final series of Supernatural and one of the actors was in that film, which happened to be free to watch on Amazon!
Anyway, I think I've gone off on a tangent. I like Christmas with my family. I don't like Christmas themes all over the place too early but that's not so much me not liking it but me not wanting to listen to those who complain about it!

I'm glad you found Christmas gifts already. I hope you find a nice tree.
I've seen Thomas Kinkade's Christmas Cottage. I will need to watch it again to remember what it was about.
I don't like hearing people complain about Christmas either.

I think that if you add a little horn of plenty under the Christmas tree you will be combining the 2 holidays perfectly.
With our Thanksgiving behind us by a few weeks now, we are full steam ahead for Christmas.
Nothing really goes out until after Remembrance Day, then the stores go all out and the music played on the radio has quite a festive theme to it.

Yes it's too early to decorate for Christmas. I usually don't decorate until after Thanksgiving. But I'm not decorating as much this year.

Good job, Valerie! I just leave the decorating and outdoor lights to my children. If they make the time, I'd be happy to have a 'star-studded' (Christmas lights) come Christmas holidays. As long as they put them down again and neatly put away back into the shed. :-D

@just4him The second time around, my sons worked hard putting up the Christmas lights. By March, we still had lights. So, I turned them on every night through to March.

Shops may start decorating for Christmas at the beginning of December. Private households usually put up their Christmas trees on December 24th. If someone had a Christmas tree in their home now, the neighbours would think that the person had a screw loose.

Many people think that about me. I can't change my persona now, can I?
My dad always waited until the last minute, literally to get the tree and trim it on Christmas Eve. One year he waited too long, so he cut the tree down from our front yard.
