We are not yet that rich to have a full time house helper. We just hire a house helper for a day on a weekend. Before we have a laundry woman weekly but since we have now an automatic washing machine we don't need her services anymore.
Flora is our first house helper. She wash the dishes, clean the kitchen, clean the bathroom, clean the rooms, declutter spaces, wash rugs. Now we replace Flora because my mother didn't like her performance lately.
So we hire a new one and she is my classmate in Elementary school. She brings her youngest daughter with her. I found out she still can't read even if she is in Grade 3 now. Since I'm not so busy on Saturdays I tutor her with reading without charge just for free. I just want to help the child to read.
Do you have house helper too?

We don't have one... But I remember when we were still small, we had three... =) But they didn't stay here for so long. I think they just stayed here for months except for one who was also studying that time. She was like our older sister. She accompanied my siblings to school. We treated her as part of our family and stayed with us for about 8 years, I think... And then she graduated in college and had to work and she went home...
Right now, we have no more house helper... My mother says they are just waiting for their payment...

Three? You are very rich. I know really rich people have housemaid, cook, gardener and driver.

@averygirl72 we're not rich. I think we just accepted them when they offered to be our helper because they had a hard time looking for work.. And they were from far provinces. One was from Nueva Ecija, a relative. And the other one was from Quirino. I think a relative just sent her here.. and the other one who was like our ate is also from our barangay...

Getting one is so tedious nowadays since they are required to have SSS, PagIbig, and Philhealth already. So, it will just be costly to have one else who could report you if you do not pay them these. Back in the province we have helper that is not staying home and would just come weekly to clean the house and do some other work as needed.

@averygirl72 Just make sure that the house helper you get won't be demanding because under the law they can demand already to be educated if they want to. It is also mandatory that you pay for their government-imposed benefits like PhilHealth, SSS, and PagIbig contributions.

@rsa101 It is really hard to find a perfect helper one that is not demanding and responsible and you can trust. Our first house helper always borrow money from my mother. She advance her salary. She will ask for money before work. She owed us some money until now

Aww that is so nice of you to tutor the girl for free!
Awesome news on the washing machine that will save you money on having to pay someone else to do it for you.

@averygirl72 it definitely is nice to be able to give someone a job and nice since you can afford it to have your house cleaned for you!

@shaggin There's a lot of work in the house on weekends. We need to wash the pile of dishes. We need to cook for breakfast and lunch. We need to wash the laundry. No time left for decluttering and cleaning the house. So a house helper helps a lot anyway it is just half day of work

Yes we have laundry woman for years but when we buy the expensive washing machine we can do the laundry on our own. So now we just hire house helper to clean the house once a week. I feel good helping other people

@LadyDuck That is expensive. Here we just pay $10 half day of work. She goes home at 12:30

@averygirl72 I am not going to pay $ 30 per hour to have someone coming to clean my house. I am picky and I prefer to do this myself. Only one woman in our neighbor has a maid who comes every other day, she is a very rich woman.

@MrDenata Yes no more because you just load the clothes and after an hour or 30 minutes you just hang it. No need for a helper

It's really common here although some people might get a cleaner in once a fortnight or once a week.
