My winter garden

The rains stopped in October here and my garden has been a big weedy mess. I never go on my terrace in rainy season so now I am going to have a big pile of work to tend the pots, remove the soil from some and show them sunlight, remove all weeds and prep the pots before I go to buy some new flowering plants. This time I have decided to plant very few petunia, lot of dianthus bec they are hardy but need shade, I want to plant fuss free flowers. I love petunia but they are very dramatic and needs lot of care. I have been trying to grow Cinereria from two years but failed badly. I may give it a try again this year not knowing if it will work but let’s try till I succeed. I decided I am not going to plant any vegetables this year. I already have turmeric getting ready which we will use to make pickles for the yearly supply. What are you planting this year? Attaching a photo of my last year’s petunia for you to see.

Gardens in the US are done for this year... I still need to add supplements to my flowerbed to get it ready to overwinter so it's ready for new plants next Spring.

@Dreamerby There are still oxalis blooming in my flowerbed outside. If you want to see most of the plants I've had in the past, you can go to one of my really old discussions and see them. Here's the link to that discussion:
My daughter and I spent several days cleaning up our yard getting it ready for the coming Summer. We had to cut back the two clumps of Pampas Grass that grows...

Some of my flowers are still blooming. I tried planting tomatoes, but did so too late in the season.

I am a plant addict! But it's late autumn here so not much planting going on. What part of the world are you in?

Those are beautiful flowers. You have a lot of weeding to do but the end will look so lovely. We are heading into our winter months. It's still fall but very chilly here with rain, nearby snow (we are supposed to get some Tuesday), and wind. Vegetables are over with.

We have very pleasant winter in my location. So it goes max 8 here that’s extreme. So in my location we get extremely good greens and flowers

@noni1959 I hate summers too and I really wish I could experience snow. In the northern part of India we get heavy snow. We also have world’s second coldest region called Dras. We visited the north twice but it was when the snow was melting. I want to experience a snowfall I never seen. If someone asked me to settle anywhere in the world it would be north of Sweden I really want to see that place

@Archie0 We get snow, rain, ice, and the whole winter thing. Our part of Oregon gets more than the Eastern or Southern areas. I don't mind. I used to live in California where it was extremely hot. Never again.

Petunia looks very beautiful. But for me it takes a lot to keep them alive. Out of 25 plants I got last year only 10 survived

@Neil43 yes for me it really is. Some people say these are hardy and don’t need care but mine are dramatic
