The Home UPS

Load shedding is common where I live. Earlier we had the Invertor that took care when there was no current but that had restrictions. It only worked for fans and lights and tv. But since the last few years we have installed a double battery Home UPS that takes care of the tv, lights, fans and even the computer. When the current goes off we do not feel it as the UPS automatically takes over. This gadget is such a blessing. We have a contract with the suppliers that take care of maintenance. The batteries need to be filled with distilled water periodically. Do you have load shedding too? Image credit https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:UPS_Image.JPG

No, we don't have that here, yet. I do know what it is because several friends in India and the Philippines have described it to me lately. I'm sorry that happens. I'm sure, as our population increases, that we'll be reduced to that, too. I'm glad you have the batteries that take over when the power goes out.

The only thing that goes off are the fridges but they stay cool for quite a few hours and by then the power comes back.

@allknowing That is nice... Once, a drunk driver took out the power pole a block away from my house. The air conditioner was the only thing we worried about while the electric company got the power fixed. And yeah, fridges will stay cold, as long as nobody opens the door, for hours.

Not yet, but we will when our solar system is active and a storm hits.

@allknowing When we start using our solar system, we will. But, only if the grid goes down, such as in a storm.

My dad has it at home as at that time the computer data was very important and there was no way to let it shut down suddenly.

We dont have that. But do have a generator in case a storm takes the electric out.

That device releases current when the current is cut off. UPS sands for Uninterrupted Power Supply

We do not have load shedding here, but we have an APC UPS on every computer we use. We do not want to lose data in case of electricity problems. We always had them even when we lived in Monte Carlo.

My inverter can even run the laptop. Your UPS looks good and efficient. I think I should think about it.
